https://greekgodsandgoddesses.net/goddesses/ ACHELOIS A minor moon goddess whose name means “she who washes away pain” ALCYONE Her story is very sad. She was madly in love with Ceyx that they called each other Zeus and Hera. Zeus and Hera didn't really like that, so they decided to kill Ceyx by inviting him though a dream to Olympus. Hera then summoned a storm so huge it tore Ceyx's ship apart. He wasn't able to notice the storm no matter how hard he would have looked, because Hera made it that way. Finally the storm came in and Ceyx was killed in a shipwreck. Artimes and Aphrodite were totally against this so they made sure that Alcyone could see her husband one last time. When Alcyone saw her husband dead on the sea shore she tried to commit suicide many times. The Gods and Goddesses were so touched by the way Alcyone was so willing to die because her husband died that they brought Ceyx back to life and turned them both into Kingfisher birds. My inspiration behind this look was Kingfisher birds c: ALCYONE (As a star) I also wanted to create one for the star named after her. ALECTRONA An early Greek goddess of the sun, daughter of Helios and Rhode, and possibly goddess of the morning. AMPHITRITE Amphitrite is a minor Greek goddess, one of several who ruled the seas. Originally, she was known as the wife of sea-god Poseidon, but over time she was set aside as merely his mistress. ANTHEIA Goddess of gardens, flowers, swamps, and marshes. In Greek mythology, Anatheia was one of three goddesses known as the Graces. Antheia, the third goddess, was the goddess of flowers, blossoms, vegetation, and human love. |
