 Reportlearning to fix things

Hi this is my diary of diy-fixing-mending-darning!
I'm sharing this keep track of my own journey but also to inspire you!
Take these tips with a grain of salt, i'm not a professional!

My inspirations for starting this project:
1 my house got infested by some kind of clothes eating moths (and i dont
have money to get an official terminator so i have just tried to clean
as much as possible and fix my things)
2 this person on instagram: @oh.charlotte.rose (slow fashion and mending)
3 this person on instagram: @9rotto (more like diy and craft-y-ness in general)

what you'll need / my tools:
hands (i grew them myself)
+ needles and thread (mostly inherited from my grandparents)
+ something to watch/listen to like video essays or audiobooks
+ a lot of patience

optional tools/tips:
something round and long-ish to put socks on while you mend them
(i used my stainlesssteel waterbottle upsidedown, you can also use a sturdy feeling lightbulb)
floss (as thread) //it already has a coating that helps with the sewing
process but if you're using cotton thread you also need like some sort
of wax or other lubricant that doesnt dry out fast
thicker yarn thread for wool socks (for normal socks you can separate it from 4
strands to 2 and it works better for thinner farbric)
some sort of embroidery hoop for fixing shirts or normal sheets

this was the first video i watched about darning/mending and
- it had good insight overall for grasping the gist
- has a voiced guide

this was probably the first hand stitch video i watched
- doesn't have a voiced guide
- just bg music

notes:
I use the blanket stitch a lot and also a variation of back stitch

what i have fixed/mended this far:

holes in wool socks
holes and tears in pants
small and large holes and tears in shirts
holes underpants and re-attaching the band that has torn off
holes, rips and tears in jeans
put a button back on jeans when the hole was too loose and it fell off

pictures of my projects:

This is basically just a copy of my OG mending thread but
I thought maybe this could be easier to have on my blogs instead of the forum
