Guys- I made a Banner (& How-To) |
HERE YE HERE YE It's a momentous occasion: I have made a banner successfully. Yes, it took much time and help to figure out (thank you Elisia and others who helped, I love you) Aaaanyways I'm going to keep track of my banners and how I did it here so I don't forget and so maybe someone sees this and gives it a try! I'll probably update it as I get better, because me figuring it out was a mess But here's my crazy journey! Enjoy! c: I used Canva, I'll note my journey if I use other sites. Non-Gif Banner Step 1. Make on Canva.   - Make a custom Canva with size to 130px x 40px - Note: Best banner size is 130 x 35 px. Canva only has 40px as the smallest. it still works - Note: Find images and/or clip art on google you like. Remove BG and upload to Canva to put them on your banner! ~creativity time~ Step 2. Download finished Canva banner to computer Step 3. Upload to imgur   - copy image url from the uploaded image in imgur Step 4. Paste url in the banner section in profile settings, and pray it worked Gif Banner Step 1. Make on Canva   - Go to Canva gif maker. - Note: Unless you have premium, the Canva gif has a set size. Just make a rectangle that is the correct banner size (130px x 35px). You can crop the gif and resize it later.* Step 2. Make the background for the gif -Note: You can make the BG for the gift on regular Canva so that you have the right size. I copied/uploaded my bg from my non-gif banner. It's kind of an extra step, but an option! Step 3. Add in the animations you want. You can add in separate blocks for text and for images. - Text has specific animations - You can make custom animations. Play around and figure it out! Or Google it! - Note some texts might be harder to read or blurrier when its smaller Step 4. Download the gif from canva.   - if it downloads as a gift, great!   - if it downloads as a video (mp4 etc) put it through a video to gif converter. *Step 5. Cropping and Resizing   - Find sites that crop and resize gifs if needed. I used OnlineGifTools Cropping OnlineGifTools Resizing Step 6. Upload the gif to Imgur   - copy the image url from the uploaded gif in imgur   - paste in profile settings and hopefully it worked (Hopefully these make sense if you read these and tried following them) Notes for me to try: imgbb for gifs try photoshop, clip studio, paint Made Banners: |
