Help with profiles (ex: music playing, textboxes, etc) |
I'm hoping that this blog helps others that are making profiles or buying/receiving them. Here you will be able to learn how to make your perfect textboxes, have music playing automatically, and some other things. If you want to learn how to do something that I haven't mentioned, leave me a comment! I'll make sure to read it and message you. *I have written this blog with my own wording, if you have no idea what I am saying in the paragraph's below, leave me a message so I can explain with more detail.* HOW TO MAKE A PROFILE(S) To make my profiles, I use four different websites. Really, I don't need to and it all depends on what you're trying to do on the layout. The main website I use is http://pixlr.com/editor/. This website is a lot like Photoshop (but freeee!), you will have the ability to use layers which are amazing when adding boxes and pictures. I try to stick with PNG images when pasting them onto my backgrounds, they're usually a lot cleaner to work with and you don't have to worry about cutting the parts you want out. But if I have to, I use this website http://www.pizap.com/. They have a cut out kind of tool that in my opinion is easier to use since I have a shaky hand. To make pretty titles, I use the website http://www.befunky.com/. I find this website to have some really nice fonts. And last but not least, I use http://tinypic.com/ to get my HTML codes for my layouts. You can always use other websites, but remember; this is what I use. I strongly recommended making an account on each of those websites, just so you're can be sure that it is safe in more then one place and can be retrieved. HOW TO WRITE AND MAKE TEXTBOXES HOW TO MAKE ANIMATIONS To make my advertisements and icons, I use a website called: http://www.flashvortex.com/ When you click this link, you will see a page has a great part in the middle. (It says "Easy website animations. Try for FREE" at the top of the grey area.) No, there isn't only one animation to use. Either click on the arrow that says "Next" or the arrow on the opposite side that says "Previous". It doesn't matter which one you click. Go through your animation choices and find the one you want to use, when you found 'the one' click on the button below the animation that says "Edit this". After you click on that button, you will go to a page that you can use to edit your animation. When you're done customizing it, click on the button that says "Generate animation" at the bottom of the page. Your animation will be showing and you will have a choice to either download your animation or code the HTML code to paste into a website. What do I do? Well since I use these animations for blogs, I copy the HTML code and go into my edit blogs section (in the virtual popstar 'social' tab). Once I load up a blog (or make a new one), I click on the small button beside the smiley face and youtube logo. It says 'HTML' in blue writing. Click on that and a new window will pop up. Paste the HTML code you copied from flashvortex.com into the new window, when you paste it make sure to click update when you're done. Yes, nothing is popping up in your blog after you pasted it into the previous window. That's normal, it happens to me. All you need to do is click 'modify' at the bottom of your blog to save it, go back into editing this same blog. (once again nothing new will be there, not even your animation.) Press modify again and go into your actual profile. (make sure that the blog you made is able to be viewed in your profile or else you won't be able to see it) Once you get to that same blog that you just made, you should be able to see your animation. BUT you will never see it in your edit blog mode, you can see the HTML code in the HTML box though. HOW TO HAVE MUSIC PLAYING AUTOMATICALLY I used this YouTube video to figure this out, it honestly helped my a bunch. Watching this video is a lot easier then reading a paragraph about it. The only thing I need to tell you is that once you get your code, you need to copy and paste it onto your profile. Then save it, go back into edit profile and it should be working. Let me know if you don't understand. (: *It is better to maybe go on another page to watch this video since I have music playing from my profile, or you can go to my profile and click the pause button to stop the music. |
