Let's Save Our Trees! |
To start this blog, let me first ask you... DO YOU KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF WE LOOSE OUR FORESTS? To answer the question, here's a short clip about DEFORESTATION Now that you had a knowledge about what's happening to our forests, let me tell you the purpose of this blog. My blog's aim; To convince the modern generation to start their actions that will save our forests. Going back to the main topic, I know some of you will ask "What's DEFORESTATION?". - Deforestation, is the process were humans brutally make the rich forests into a useless void of cement. To help prevent Deforestation, we should know a couple of things that will help our mother nature. WHAT ARE THE THINGS THAT WE CAN RECYCLE? > PAPERS It is really important to recycle papers, for it conserves natural resources, saves energy, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and keeps landfill space free for other types of trash that can't be recycled. > PLASTIC, BOTTLES AND JUGS Plastics are really harmful to mother nature, so us humans must help by recycling it. But be careful, some plastics are harmful to human beings! > METALS Did you know that the Steel Industry has been recycling for over 150 years? So what are you waiting for? Let's help them! > GLASS For me, glass is the easiest to recycle. Also, did you know that glass is 100% recyclable FOREVER? > OTHERS We can also recycle some other things like car batteries, used cartridge, scrap marble, junk computer, sawdust, and many more! Okay, now that you know what to recycle. Here are some facts about our PAPERS: Fact No. 1 Each year the world produces 300 tons of papers. Fact No. 2 The United States has less than 5% of the world's population, yet consumes 30% of the papers. Fact No. 3 45% of the papers printed in the offices ends up trashed by the end of the day. Fact No. 4 An estimated 18 million acres of forest are lost each year, that's equal to 22 football field being destroyed every minute. Fact No. 5 If the current rate of deforestation continues, it would only take 100 years to completely destroy all of the forests in Earth. HOW WE CAN ALL MAKE A SIMPLE DIFFERENCE 1.) Go paperless as much as possible and store documents digitally. 2.) Use recycled paper at home or in the office. 3.) When printing, use both sides. 4.) Adjust fonts and formatting to fit more text in a sheet. 5.) Reuse paper whenever possible. Here's a short clip about: Save Paper. Help the Forests. ADDITIONAL FACTS: - Recent studies estimate that fish off the west coast ingest 12,000 tons of plastic a year. - Recycling steel saves 75% of the energy that would be used to create steel from raw materials - enough to power 18 million homes. |
