Mystic Messenger |
Since apparently more people on here have started playing it, I decided not to be lay anymore and make a blog on Mystic Messenger You have two story modes. Casual mode and deep mode. In casual mode you have the chance of getting the routes of Zen, Jaehee and Yoosung. In deep mode you can get the other two characters: Jumin and Seven. Unlocking the deep story requires 80 hourglasses, but once it is unlocked you can endlessly play in deep story without consuming any other hourglasses. Hourglasses and hearts??? What are hourglasses? You can say that it's their in game currency. You can buy hourglasses, you can transform hearts into hourglasses, or you can gain them. Hourglasses have a 1:100 rate with hearts. That means that for each 100 hearts you have, you can get 1 hourglass. You can also gain hourglasses in chatrooms and when there is an update, cheritz will automatically give you hourglasses. The number of hourglasses depends on the update. It=f it is a small update you will get 10 hourglasses. There have been bigger updates which have rewarded players with 30, 50 and even 150 hourglasses. How do you gain hearts? Simple, you gain them from the characters. You have options to choose from, in chatrooms and even text messages, and depending on your chosen option you might be granted with a heart or not. Each character has its different colour. Zen has silver hearts, Jaehee has yellow/golden heart, Yoosoung has green, Jumin's blue/purple and Seven has red hearts. Based on this you'll also be assigned to a route. For example if you're in normal story mode and you get a majority of green hearts, your route will be Yoosoung's. (You will get hearts from Jumin or Seven if you're in normal story, but you won't be able to have their route. The same goes for deep story. You will get hearts from Zen, Jaehee or Yoosoung but you won't get their routes). We'll talk more about routes soon! What can you do with hourglasses other than unlock deep story? Well you have chatrooms. If you miss a chatroom and you wish to recover it, you will need 5 hourglasses per chatroom. You can also unlock an entire day with hourglasses! That means, you'll be able to play 24 hours in a much shorter time, without having to wait for chatrooms to appear. What else can you do with hourglasses? CALL the characters. It's no guarantee that they will reply, so your hourglasses will be lost, but you can call all the characters, regardless who's route you're on. The calls are in Korean, but there is an English translation written so you won't have to worry about understanding or not understanding. Also the emojis they use in the chatrooms sometimes have Korean sfx like "Hyung, waeireyo" (Hyung is a term used my males to address older males) aka Hyung, why are you like this? or "Jagiya" which is darling. Routes?? And what is this game about? You stumble across an app and get contacted by a stranger "Unknown" about a phone. You will have to go to an apartment and get inside it. That's when your story starts and a chatroom suddenly appears where every member is present. They give you a brief introduction of themselves. You also meet V there for the first time. V doesn't have a route, but he's pretty much the leader of the organization. The organization is called RFA, Rika's Fundraising Association. You're explained what they do aka they host parties and raise funds for different groups. Your task will be to sort guests out. You'll start at day 1 and members will start suggestion different guests for you. For a guest to attend you will have to reply correctly to 3 of their questions. Then they will attend. Who you invite isn't really as important as they make it seem in the chatrooms so no worries. If you reply to zero or only one mail correctly, they won't attend. But if you reply to two or 3 mails correctly they will be there. On the 4th day you're let to know by V that the party will be held in one week. On the 5th day you'll see which route you'll have. Eche route lasts for only 11 days ad then it's game over and you'll start anew (if you want to. But let's face it, you'll be so hooked on it, that you will go for a second route... and a third... etc) As previously mentioned in normal story you can get Zen, Jaehee or Yoosoung and in deep story you get Jumin or Seven. Now, each character has 5 different endings! FIVE!!!!! So that means you can play the game a total of 25 times and get a different ending just as many times. You have a normal ending, a good ending and 3 different bad endings! Normal ending appears when you didn't manage to make 15 guests arrive at your party. Good ending is when you have managed to get 15+ guests attending. Bad endings differ from character to character. But you either don't have enough love points with that character or you have encouraged one or another behaviour. Short intro of the characters Being into astrology, when I first started playing I've noticed some behaviour patterns so I looked the character up. Boy was I shocked. Some characters are on point with their sign, some are a complete miss. But anyways let's get to the characters. Zen Zen's real name is Hyun Ryu and he is a musical actor. He was discovered by Rika and then joined the organization. He drinks, smokes and was even in a motorcycle gang. He doesn't have a good relation with his family and he's a complete narcissist. He's also allergic to cats, so don't ever mention them to him. There are theories going around that he's albino and that's why he has silver hair and red eyes. He's an Aries (explains his narcissism *cough*). Because this is a Korean game their ages are one year older than what would be their age for us. They function by lunar years so kids when they're born are already 1 year old. So if Zen is 23 in the game, it means he's actually 22 for us. Zen sometimes has psychic dreams and he has also broken the 4th wall once Jaehee Kang Jaehee is Jumin's assistant and also the only other girl in the group except for you. Jaehee's a hard working Capricorn, probably even a work-a-holic, but that's because she always has the company's best interest in her view. She's 25 in the game (thus 24 for us) and she's intially really suspicious of you when you join the organization. She's a really big fan of Zen and will fangirl whenever the topic comes along or whenever Zen posts a selfie in the chatrooms. Jaehee also really likes coffee. SPOILER: You will not be able to get romance with her. She will friendzone you in her route. Yoosoung Kim Yoosoung is a college student who's addicted to gaming. He's studying to be a vet and he's also the only one who was related to Rika. Yoosoung is her cousin. Not by blood however since his aunt and uncle have adopted Rika, but nonetheless he cares for her as a cousin. After her death it was especially hard on Yoosoung and he became a little obsessed with her. So don't be put off if he mentions her a lot or even compares you to Rika. He's 20 in the game 9thus 19 for us) and a Pisces Jumin Han Jumin is a 27 (26) year old CEO. His father owns a company and he's said to be the heir. He has a pet cat, Elizabeth the 3rd (don't you dare call her Elly cause no one is allowed to change her posh and luxurious name). He's a Libra (what a complete fail in assigning his sign cause he behaves like a Virgo 95% of the time but oh well). He loves cats and will come up with cat related business and cat related guests. He may seem a little cold, but he deeply cares about everyone, including you who has just joined the organization. He'd do anything, no matter the amount of resources and money he has to pay, in order to keep you all safe. 707 707, or Seven, or Luciel (boy has many names) is a talented hacker and also works as a secret agent. He became a member of the RFA thanks to the chance Rika ad V gave him. He's a happy-go-lucky fella' on the outside, hiding a lot on the inside. He's a 21 (20 for us) year old Gemini (so on point with how much he talks, how weird he is and also how complex he is) and is considered the most complex character out of the 5 and also the main character out of the 5. Seven breaks the 4th wall often and there are theories that Seven is the one who is actually behind the game and has "created" the game. Once you unlock deep story and get to Seven's route, if you have a good ending, two specials will be unlocked in which you get to know the story behind "Unknown" (the person who sent you to the RFA) and also the story behind Seven's childhood as well as more details about Rika and V and the RFA itself. Rika Rika was the founder of the RFA. She was in a relationship with V and she's a Scorpio (so wrong lmao, with how she behaves she's not a Scorpio she's a Taurus). Rika created the organization in order to help people. After she committed suicide the RFA haven't been holding parties anymore. But now that you're here you can help them! V V is the second founder of RFA and now the leader. He's a photographer who's on the verge of running blind due to an accident. He's Jumin's childhood friend and a Virgo (on point again, Cheritz, hats off to you). He's 27 (aka 26) and thus the same age as Jumin. He travels a lot for his photo's and is barely in the chatroom. They usually auction his photographs at the party and that's where the most donations come from. Note about the fandom: WE ARE MORE ANGSTY THAN THE GAME ITSELF! There would be a lot more to say about this game, but I'm afraid I'd spoil it too much. It's best you play for yourself. I have personally completed Zen's, Seven's and Jumin's route with "Good Ending"s and am currently replaying Jumin's route in order to get a normal ending (then I'll play Jumin again to get a bad ending I'm not obsessed with this sweetheart I swear ;; ). However if there are other questions, do not hesitate to ask. And also if you want someone to fangirl with over this game, DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME BECAUSE YES!!!!! |
