Update on Development & Next Steps for Virtual Popstar
Hi everyone,
A little follow-up on what I mentioned earlier about bringing in a new developer.
Over the past weeks things have looked a bit slow from the outside. That wasn’t because nothing was happening, but because it took longer than expected to get full technical access to Virtual Popstar and to tidy up some of the infrastructure behind the scenes. That work is now done, and the developer is fully onboarded — so from here on it should be a lot easier to actually build things.
What might surprise some of you (in a good way!) is that the developer is actually a VP player: he’s known on the site as Enbette.
A few words about him, because I think it’s important you know who’s working on the game:
He’s studying for a master’s degree at an IT university, researching how gaming software platforms can be used for modeling information and communication networks.
In his spare time he makes PC/web games and has made some minigames and layouts for News Team articles before.
He’s known VP for about 8 years — originally through his younger sister, who made him play Minesweeper and the old Roses game and who told him all the VP stories 😅
And most importantly: he already has some concrete ideas for VP.
What’s next? (still to be aligned with the admins and put in a roadmap):
Wardrobe update
Christmas / seasonal design for the site
Exploring an update to the core gameplay loop (fans & performances)
As said in previous announcements: the goal is to give Virtual Popstar a renewed boost — more activity, more members, and enough revenue to fund future development and infrastructure.
I’m also working on finalising the new leadership / admin structure so there’s more clarity on decision-making and priorities. Once that’s in place, we can line up Enbette’s ideas with what the team and community want.
Infrastructure work = done ✔️
Developer = onboarded ✔️
Next phase = building ✔️
Thanks for sticking with us — this is the part where it starts to move again. 💙
