Chapter nine - Time to go.
_
Alice woke very early to the sound of Hatter shouting at her, telling her to get up and get dressed.
She groaned a little, pulling her weak frame up off the ground and dragging herself out of the little tent that Hatter had set up for her when she arrived to have a pile of clothes literally thrown at her.
"Go on! Go down to the river! Get washed, get dressed." Hatter said, shoving her in the direction of the river.
"Alright, alright, calm down." Alice laughed a bit. Hatter smiled at her.
"But it's such a big day!" he grinned.
"You're in a good mood." she stated, raising an eyebrow.
"I am really." he said, smiling more. "Now! Off you go!" he said, Alice laughed at him a bit before disappearing to the river.
Alice quickly peeled off most of her clothes but not her underwear, just in case someone came across her and she then set the pile of new clothes down on a dry rock before running into the river and washing herself off.
It felt nice to wash, she hadn't in a while. Also, she had mud on her from her days in wonderland.
The trees whispered things, soothing things.
"Wonderland is saved...", "You'll be alright.", "Our savoir...."
Alice couldn't help but grin.
She finished washing and dried herself off with a towel that Hatter had given her among the clothes, then she put the clothes on.
They were a perfect fit and felt wonderful against her skin. She had a blue dress, a bit like the one she had on in the asylum but nicer and less tight, she also had a pair of light blue shoes and a jacket. Alice smiled a bit, grabbing the towel and her old clothes before walking back to camp.
Hatter, Peter and Cheshire greeted her there with a rucksack, it was brown material that looked a bit like suede, but it wouldn't have surprised Alice is it wasn't.
"The things are in there." Peter said, pointing to the rather small looking rucksack.
"All of the weapons?" Alice asked in disbelief.
"Yes, and some more clothes as well." Hatter grinned.
Alice laughed a bit, Wonderland was incredible.
"You'll figure out how to get the weapons out very quickly, it's unbelievably simple, for you at least. You're much more clever than the Queen or her Guards, so they won't find them." Cheshire explained, an eery grin planted on his face.
"Thank you." Alice said, grinning a bit as she slipped the rucksack on. It was quite light.
"It's alright. Right, so the castle is simply up the road, then you turn to your left and there is a massive tunnel leading to the castle itself where you will be staying. But we can't walk you there, we'll get caught, they know what we look like." Peter explained.
"Okay." Alice said, trying to remember the directions.
"Goodbye Alice." they all said, waving her off.
And that is where Alice's journey began...
