The past week has been undoubtedly disappointing for ... obvious reasons. A real negative vibe is looming of the site and the broken image we're getting from it all is taking a toll on the moral of the site. The English server tends to get a lot of flack for some reason, I don't know why and I don't think anyone really does. We're often attacked and are subject to ridicule for no reason. Unfortunately, we're a bit helpless to the cause, but that doesn't mean we have to sit there and accept that as the sites' fate. We can turn this around. Maybe not through bug fixes or shop updates, but we can surely turn this place back into a lively and happy place, because it was at one time.

Regardless of who you are, who your friends are here, how you dress here, how you chose to play this game, we all have one thing in common. We chose to be here. No one has a gun to our head, saying we have to be here, or that we have to support the site. No way! We are here by choice, because we like being here. We have friends, a good community, and now and then, a little fun. There's no reason we should let one person or an entire group of people bully us into a negative state; because that's not fair.

From talking to a lot of the players here, I've noticed a pattern in the feelings of a lot of the users. They don't feel accepted, or it's hard to fit in. And that's awful because I've always known the site to be the drama free version of goSupermodel, the people here had grown up and learned to accept people whether they enjoyed them or not. This place has been drama free for a long time and then one day it decided to plant it's butt here, and what happened? Intolerance, annoyance, gossip and bullying.

Why?

Because we fight what's different. We're no longer accepting of other people because of the attacks we get, of all the hate we get, because of all the negativity that was dropped on our site because someone thought it would be fun. But that's not fun. It hurts. It hurts to watch the site turn its back on itself and the players diss other users freely like it's going out of style. I thought we all grew out of that by now? Acceptance has become a second nature by now, hasn't it?

And with all that being said, even though the negativity still lingers, it won't go away completely, I'm not asking for a miracle, I'm just asking you all to play nice, support each other, stand up for each other or try to see things from someone else's perspective before trying to make them feel like their ideas, thoughts or opinions are trash since they're not. Some are surely questionable but there's no reason to hurt someone over it. Doing that, you're not better than the intolerant people you don't like.

On this last note, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for being here, because even if others don't, I appreciate you being here, I appreciate you taking time from your day to come spend it here on the website. I think you're all really rad people, differences aside, I think it's cool to learn and meet you all. It's something I wanted to do on this site when I joined. I wanted to get to know everyone in the community to some extent; and I have, for the most part. I'm grateful and so happy to have a community like this with people like you here. You really make Virtual Popstar what it is, a totally awesome place to hang out and meet people, make friends and learn. So thank you, for at least making my stay here completely worth it.

I know, I know, I'm asking for a lot, but, I think it would be cool for you all to five seconds of your time here on Virtual Popstar and head over to this thread, and give a shout out to someone you know and someone you want to know. Give them a nice little ego boost.

Share a nice compliment and while you're at it, tell me something that you love about yourself because everyone needs an ego boost now and then.
