On this farm and the farms we know around here take really good care of the pigs. I know some places that are bad. And they had a hell when I did talk to them. But last time I was there things was so much better.

I myself eat meat but not much. And I eat meat from places I know.

I would never mistreat any animal. I know my work, and ppl think I do bad things. But I don’t. Never. Pigs that my boss wanted to put a sleep bc they was ill. And I did not many times, and all went good. Bc if a pig gets really sick here. I can sit with it, help it drink and eat. And always it get better. So for me when ppl put them to sleep, I think I could do more.

Okey Im still very lost. :c Are u asking about my work with the pigs or if I google this it take me to how we grow on the fields. Then we use our pigs poop to put on the things we grow. I’m not that good on that thing bc I take care of the pigs. And out pigs are not organic. (eko)

Nesta means to what regulations your firm conforms.
Depending on the country you're in, some "labels" like organic come with very specific regulations, like having at least this amount of space for the birthing boxes, using that kind of food, etc.
If you just conform to the bare minimum of standards set in your country, I'd say it's probably conventional.

But like I said, these labels vary so much in different countries, it's a bit of a bogus question (in my opinion), especially as none of the rules we have in place are actually as friendly to the animals and their general health, as they all claim to be (like there's issues and problems with all of them and nothing's perfect), but that's my two cents and probably doesn't correspond with what most people think and certainly not with the policial view on the topic (obviously, because if it would, the regulations and rules still wouldn't be so leniant).

Okey. It was a hard question bc I did not understand it.
But me (in sweden) use what is best for our pigs. Ocf follow the law, but we have little bigger boxes than what the law says and we use a foder that is energy and tasty for the mama pig.
We follow the law, but we have it better than the law says for my country. Not everyone have that. But we do and some more I know.

That's what I mean. It follows the minimal instructions of what the law says and goes a bit above. But it's for instance not organic, so many things could probably still be "better".
Like, not shaming you or who you work for, I said, it's an issue and all, but neither pig farm on this earth really is "perfect" for the animals. Which is what makes the production of animal products such a big ethical discussion theme. Again, not shaming you, more a low-laid comment about the industry and it's issues. Like yeah, it might be better than it has to be, but is it really as good as it can be? (Probably not, because capitalism and peak efficiency don't care about comfort or luxury.)
But then again, kudos for not strictly sticking to the lowest standards enforced by law and calling it a day. It's at least something.

And I want u to know. What u see on tv or what ppl show us is the not everyone. My farm I work on is good. I did not like this or do. I still think it’s wrong. But, now I can make it as good I can on one farm. We are not like the tv say. Trust me on that. My pigs have free water, food 5 times each day. (can’t eat more). Straw to sleep in. Space to sleep or so on. I never said we are perfect. But I can do it as good as I can.

yeah, that's literally what I was agreeing on with you :d
I said, no shame to you or your firm
just don't want people to romanticise it either, because that's just plainly wrong if you're working with other living beings awho can't express themselves and their needs in a way that we understand them

The farms I know, I did learn some things and they follow it. I did not like the way they did before. But now it’s much better. I get so much hate. And I never get the chance to explain. That is sad. Bc I never say that everyone is as good as we are. But I wish they was.

Omg thats honestly so cool

i always wonder if farmers get emotionally attached/form an emotional bond with their animals. Do u get attached to ur pigs? If so, how do u deal with the fact that they are gonna get slaughtered at some point? like isnt it hard to send a pig that u have basically raised from birth to the slaughterhouse? like how do u deal with that emotionally?

I dont mean this in any type of criticizing way btw. Like im not trying to be like “HoW DOes iT FeEl To KiLL Ur PiGS MEAT IS MURDER” or shame/guilttrip u or anything like that im very neutral about this stuff im just genuinely curious bc i myself get very attached to animals and have no idea how i would handle it so id love to hear ur experience and ur perspective
I always get attached to the mama and her babies. Mama pig stay with us 6-7 years so that part is hard. Some mama is so lovely, some u can’t look at bc they are angry for no reason. haha. Hospital one time. 😇
And ofc I fall for all the baby pigs. They are so cute and smarts and funny. But it was harder at the start. Now 4 years later u learn. I still love them. And want to take them home. But u learn how to control your feelings.
Aaw. Yeah it makes sense that u learn how to deal with it after a while even if its tough in the beginning. I guess u just gotta focus on the fact that u gave them good, happy lives. i rly admire u for that.
i used to ADORE pigs when i was a kid and would visit farms just so i could see the pigs so ur job is like my childhood dream lol

I love pigs. I went to school to learn about farm animals and other animals. So I can work as many things with animals. Zoo, farms, store and much more. But 4 years ago I got this work. I myself don’t eat much meat.
I know maybe u wont trust me when I say that u see on tv is not how we do here. I can’t do any pain for the pig. When I did start at this place I did feel really mean and so. But when u learn and the pigs trust u. No problem.
cool (: im happy u found ur passion. and i really like pigs.
i know that media can represent farmers and stuff in the wrong light, so i dont necessarily think that every pig farmer is like that. so if u say u dont hurt them like some do on TV, i believe u c:

are the pigs brought up to be slaughtered for their meat, or are they just pets where u work?

Do you think you’ll ever get tired of it or is it something you can see yourself doing forever?
