I've also recently ordered something like this. I think it will make organizing stuff even better

start packing from any storage units or in general start with what you use the least at the moment. clothes and household textiles work fine as packing materials for kitchenware etc. always pack an overnight bag with the essentials - a change of clothes, toiletries, chargers, meds etc so that you don't need to unpack everything immediately.

if you're type a enough to pull this off number all the boxes and have an excel sheet or a notebook with numbered pages with full contents of the boxes. if not, write (on the packing tape so u can reuse the boxes) at least which room the box is going and maybe put down something like 'plates, glassware' or 'clothes and hangers' on them. preferably put the numbers and/or the rooms on at least two sides of the boxes. easier to find.

I'm mostly worried about packing my stuff and shit, I have SO MUCH SHIT and I don't want all of it to come with me, but at the same time I'm too attached to throw half of it out. :I

Take pics/video to document what
the place looks like when you move in
So if you choose to move later
the landlord doesn’t stick you with
damages that were already there
as an excuse to keep your security fee

start with stuff u know u will absolutely need/bought just for the new apartment: like towels, a set of shower/bathroom products, basic kitchen equipment like at least one good knife, a cutting board and cooking oil + basic seasonings, pots and pans etc.
and then go step by step, based on how important it is and if you need it till you move
so i'd start with packing up my winter clothes  and end with summer clothing for example

ok i know it's kinda icky but has some good points still, have you looked into the konmari method or something similar? the main point is, obviously to reduce the amount of junk, but what i got out of it (besides of nifty folding tips) was that u take things you're Not Sure about, pack them for a year and if u haven't needed or wanted the things in one (1) year you'll sell, donate or otherwise get rid of the things. maybe u could try something like that?

oh yeah this is an obvious one, honestly do this
i've had landlords try to make me responsible for weird things before, watch your back and document as carefully as possible every little wear and tear and damage there is. and do this before u move. it takes a few hours to go through the place in detail but u can save big bucks doing it.

drama! controversy!
i have to say i disagree with this because honestly if you're moving out the first time you probably won't have a clue what u actually Need at first, like u need to be the rainman of kitchen equipment for example to be able to trace your steps in so much detail you would remember every item u need for your routines. i say mash them together and sort the boxes out as quickly as possible when you get there.

when you're moving with (several?) roommates, you could try to plan ahead a little and talk about what each of you has in storage for the new place. u do not need 3 full sets of utensils, kitchen scales, shower curtains etc, but could maybe try putting down things you'll probably need and don't have in your own things, they could check what they have and you'd probably end up with a lot of items that make more sense this way.

get curtains up fast, living without curtains is worse than you think (but depends how much sunlight you get into your apartment)

i lived without curtains for the better half of the entire summer last year and it was HELL
