Well you can't help anyone until you help yourself, and I think the average person doesn't have the reach to help the world (hey, we can't all be Jane Fonda, that's okay)
but focusing on your local community can spread care, skills, compassion, and resources far and wide like a domino effect, it's best to do what you can with what you've got with the best intentions.
