i dont get why people willingly live in areas like these, do americans even know that there are a lot of places on earth where u dont have to worry about tornadoes, wild fires, earthquakes, tsunamies, flood, school shootings, and hurricanes
For a lot of folks it isn't as easy as just leaving.
money, family, health, etc.
I also can understand not wanting to give up your home and roots.

but yeah folks who move to florida on purpose I am curious about the motives lol

It’s life and despite whatever effort taken
shit is bound to happen and you can’t run/hide from everything.

I’d like to think being resilient and still going forward
after losing everything applies to most
other than Americans

I live in a place with pretty mild weather
but there's a chemical stockpile nearby that could leak and kill everyone here

every place has its danger, some you just don't get to see

I mean the only reason I was able to leave is because I had family elsewhere that took us in
not everyone has the ability to just pick up and leave, we wouldn't have been able to leave without family elsewhere.
no one gets to pick where they're born, and while everyone has the ability to change their situation, it's a lot harder for some folks than others to get there.

1 in 7 amercians live below the poverty line

those who aren't, can afford the damage that comes from dangerous weather, they can afford to repair the homes, vehicles, insurance premiums

I can't pretend to know what middle class people are thinking lol
but there is an overwhelming amount of folks who are in situations they aren't as easily able to get out of.
