our sales are HIGHER yet corporate is forcing our SMs to cut hours.
We have like, 2/3 the staff any given shift, yet we're expected to provide the same level of speed and service
I have effectively told them to go fuck themselves I'm not pushing my body past its limits for any corporation, let alone one only paying me 12 bucks - and I'm encouraging my coworkers to do the same.

if we don't get help - drinks go out slower, and either they accept that, or they let us staff more people.
if we keep trying to meet those demands, then we just show them we're willing to work harder for no further compensation. Fuck that
This exactly!
We were good for selling stuff, we knew what do. Still there were usually 2 people working at same time and when one had a break...the other one was alone. You couldn't do anything properly then. We would have only needed one extra pair of hands to get everything done...and what do we get? Busy evenings or long days without breaks.
I worked for about 10€/h which is ridiculously low for everything I did. Left and they asked later on how the experience was there. Oh did i tell them every shitty detail in that survey. Some person must have had fun to read it.

I have way more chill jobs now and pays more.
I want every customer to know that every starbucks has to break health and safety codes to meet the standards of the company
your refreshers very likely have fruit flies in them
our floor drains can't get cleaned regularly, theres must mold everywhere
we just wipe shit down, we don't "clean" much of anything
hand washing every ten minutes? yeah right, try every 2 hours
our buckets of sanitizer water we use to wipe things down are literally brown and cloudy all day because we have no time to change them

I'm at an INCREDIBLY high traffic drive-thru store, like, easily 10k+ in sales a day. It literally never stops. I have never had a spare minute to take care of jack shit.
Our weekly orders just sit in the lobby because they don't give us enough noncoverage hours to put it away
I'm not surprised tbh...well health regulations aren't really met in the place I work either. : D

I really don't understand the higher ups. Like why make things more hard for everyone? Oh right, cause they don't know anything that actually happens in their stores and they think they are making great decisions and then wondering why people leave and doesn't want to work there.

I mean, I told everyone to never work in Jysk.

and funny how my hours went even lower (8 for a whole week) with the first schedule to come out after I opened a case for disability accomodations.
Wow that's actually disgusting I'm so sorry

I can't prove its disability related but it seems fishy...

I wouldn't put it past them, Starbucks is notoriously anti-union and generally bad. I'm glad we don't have it here.

My accommodation requests are still pending (over a month now) and all I asked for was
1. ability to only work postilions without a headset because I have severe ADHD, and its VERY overstimulating and distracting, and the headset makes me make dangerous mistakes because I can't tune out unimportant sounds
and
2. not working in the window or outside when its cold because I have advanced osteoarthritis

I don't think that either was a lot to ask
they suggested I move to a cafe only store and the closest is over an hour from where I live

I mean, I took this job because when working for small businesses where I live, there was no repercussions for how I was treated, no HR, no chain of command, nothing - and with this small ass rural town, the reputation of the business owner trumped all. they could get away with anything  because they were buddies with health inspectors, local law enforcement, etc.

Literally worked for a neo nazi with a roach infested kitchen in her cafe once

oh girl, make no mistake
I go into each shift with a "fire me, I fucking dare you" attitude
I do not care if I get fired
I am disabled, I am doing my best, if that aint enough they can go fuck themselves

but I will not quit and lose out on possible unemployment in the interim
