Yeah I know, its a lot of bad stuff. In some states u have 3 strikes before ur in for life too, even if its murder or small drug charges which is honestly ridiculous but yeah. Looking at statistics they have an incredibly bad re-offend rate compared to for example where I live (norway). Of course we have less ppl here, but the crime rates are also incredibly low in comparison. Obv from more than just the prison experience as a whole, but i think that plays a major part in it, so thats why i think that it isn't good to give police less money if the crime rates are still as high ouch wrote:
I don't rlly see prevention as that possible, or like worth it, but fixing the whole prison system would do immensely good and focus on rehabilitation instead of punishment, which as of today only causes people to re-offend.
