Yeah that's true, as I mentioned I'm a communications major so those topics are maybe more from my perspective.
Oh, that would be really helpful! If I dig through the reading list for all my methods courses I'll probably find a lot on that as well, but like I said, I've barely read anything of that...

Those are good suggestions! I've actually considered both corona and conspiracy theories, maybe in combination. I think I need to have a look at whether there has been a lot of research on conspiracy theories already. I feel like much of the work about that has been done by journalists, but I might be wrong.
If you decide to go for empirical research, I could go through my notes and look up the books my profs recommend on that, I had a class on empirical research last semester and one about designing experiments this semester. disintegration wrote:

If you have some experience with designing experiments, that is always fun.
Or you could do Film analysis but that's a bit boring and done too often imo.
Maybe research into the different way the covid crisis affectes men women, marginalized people in different ways with a local aspect eg your state/country.
Or how the media presented male vs female medical experts or something about the conspiracy believers and the dynamics (I believe there are way more men active in those groups, might be interesting to do some research abt that)
This is a good question, and I'm not entirely sure yet. I have zero experience with doing interviews and stuff like that, so I'm not sure this would be the time to experiment with that... Doing surveys or like internet ethnography are definitely options I'm open to though.Do you want to do something that is purely research in books or collect your own empirical data too?
