If Norway treated snow and cold temperatures as the US seemingly does it would have been a very......... hm.......... useless country. Like.. we'd be dead. Straight up.
The winter comes, every single year, sometimes more than once per year. If you're not prepared you'll die.
That's fair
I've been in Kentucky seven years, and there's been several years where we've barely had winter at all. Maybe a few tiny snows, but that is it.
I moved to the literal arctic area of Norway in July and the snow from the previous winter was still around on the mountains lmfao, I think it was fully gone in September and the first snow came in.. Late October. I was a bit disappointed by the amount until honestly 3 weeks ago lool.
That mountain thing happens w us too but ig its common idk

To the most northern parts of Sweden it’s often another train company that runs so they’re a bit more prepared but here in Stockholm, where it still snows every year, they’re always mind blown when the first snowflake drops
Interesting because it is SJ in Midt-Norge and Nord-Norge lmao
Oh really?? I think u can take sj up north too but I think there’s like a northern train company that is better and takes you further
Yeah our conservative government was like lmao let's stop doing a national railway thing and have companies bid to have it for like 10 years!! idiots. I think it's like SJ have the majority of Norway (Midt, Nord and from Østlandet to Midt-Norge). Then there's Go ahead on Sørlandet.. I think VY (formerly NSB) got both Bergensbanen and the local trains on Østlandet (Oslo area) .. it is so stupiddddddddddd

How do folks who live somewhere its cold for so long grow food?
I mean.. there are probably someone who does it but I think having sheep is more common up here? Crops and all that is more Southern Norway.

Most of the food in Norway is important anyway because it's not a very ideal place to grow anything but moss
