Do you have a suggestion on how the money can be used to improve the system? They get billions every year but this still continues to happen. The very fundamental roots of the American police system are rotten to the core. I actually do think the police should be defunded AND abolished, and rebuilt to suit the society it is in now. The system is built on racial prejudice and no one can convince me otherwise.

We had a cop over in school once a year to teach street signs and drug laws and stuff and it made me so uncomfortable that he showed up in uniform and with a very visible and loaded gun :/

He never gave one, it was strapped to his belt and he reached for it and put it on the table during the lesson, I was disgusted

Same here it's bad enough at a traffic stop that they have a gun but around kids is immoral

I've heard of redlined states but don't know what they are!
But it sounds just like the outside world. :-) Police have always targeted poc and low income neighbourhoods!

Red lining is when banks and housing industries make sure that white neighborhoods stay white by making it impossible for black families to get loans or mortgages and creating areas of low income housing with there own schools as a modern segregation
