I had covid right before Christmas and it was surprisingly far easier than the colds I've had this past year but it is genuinely scary seeing so many service industry employees struggling because only a fraction of them are available to work

it was actually a serious question but go off
let people have their concerns and shit no one needs to explain their point to u
of course ppl can have their concerns and i'm not saying they can't - i also have concerns lol. no one needs to explain their point either
i don't see why i'm selfish bc i think the vaccines are the way out of the pandemic? if everyone got vaccinated, we wouldn't have the problems we have now bc covid wouldn't be as dangerous as it currently is (as absintjente explained wonderfully)

also like i said before. the toll the social distancing is taking on finances, mental health and education also isn't great. so where do you draw the line. when are ppl allowed to go outside & live their life again? after they're vaccinated? after they're boosted?

that's the point i was trying to make - i wasn't trying to play the devil's advocate. didn't phrase it detailed enough ig

funny how assuming the best of intentions work lol

while i will follow all guidelines posed upon us by the government, im also allowed to think this is a shitty situation. vaccination was sold to us as the way out, and it would have been - if enough people were vaccinated. asking questions as to how many vaccines we're supposed to get is absolutely legitimate, because it poses a further question of how well prepared the various governments actually are. its irresponsible and dumb to place the burden of this on the population, when the answer (in norway) is to strengthen the hospital. of course, that doesnt happen in a blink, but it has been close to two years now and something should have happened in that span.

all that said, we can never escape covid unless every single country has eradicated it, ie has a sizeable portion of the population vaccinated. it isnt sustainable nor wise to just keep vaccinating the population of richer countries when other countries have a vaccination grade in the single digits, all because of pharmaceutical greed.

happy reminder that every single person in norwegian hospitals massive requiring  amounts of care due to covid are unvaccinated!

hard agree with this. i understand we all have to be careful and i understand every guideline but its still sp so frustrating. it went exactly the same here in the netherlands, with the vaccine literally being advertised as the way out. we even had a slogan ‘dancing with janssen’, stating that if you were vaccinated you could go to the club the next day (even though vaccines need 2 weeks to fully work). its a shitty, infuriating situation that takes such a long time that i feel like i’m missing out on my youth. i finish college in summer and will start working after that. i wont have the time that i have now. and we’re in another lockdown where i can’t do anything even though i’m fully vaccinated !!!
last part is also true here. so so infuriating

hahaha norway removed all restrictions in the end of september and the then government partied w little hats... n look at us now!

its shitty to have done everything right and still be punished. its not fair that i have to bear the burden on some sods who are voluntarily unvaccinated. i know that life isnt fair, and i know that there are people who are content with being stuck in their house all day - but im not, and i should be allowed to be sad about missing TWO YEARS of my comparably short life without being accused of being a covid denier or "not taking peoples concerns seriously" - because if i didnt, i wouldnt sit at home n get my vaccinations.
