Okay so I'm Pakistani and I don't really see henna as CA in places like the United States. I understand that xenophobia has a major negative impact on South Asians (and for henna, other cultures that wear henna) practicing their culture, but I don't think that South Asian cultures are marginalized in places like the US for it to be CA for others to wear sarees or put on henna. Afaik (and I could be wrong), CA would negatively impact Native American cultures and Black American culture since these groups have unfortunately had a long history of being marginalized by the US (which included being severely punished for practicing their cultures) as well as seen White America take in parts of their cultures and profit off of it (while giving 0 credit to them etc etc). That dynamic doesn't exist for South Asians in the US.
In my experiences, many salons in the state that I live in are run by South Asian women or have a lot of South Asian women working in them and they offer henna services. There are also South Asian and MENA grocery stores that sell henna. In these contexts, South Asians are willingly sharing their cultures so why not get some henna done and support SA and MENA businesses you know what I mean?
