I see what you're aiming at even though the purpose of laws kinda is to set a social norm, and to some extent it works. 

hmm alright yeah I guess it's "ok" to do yeah, people can do what they want. i guess the norm is that it's not good though, which I might agree with. I would never tell someone to stop though, that shit ain't my business and yeah, it's ok to harm oneself as said. just like it's ok to smoke

My take is that people in a self-harm "mindset" need help, and some do it because they dont know how to ask for it (keyword some). I dont think someone should yell at or be disgusted by someone who does s/h but I think it's necissary to talk to them about it when they can and help them to stop. I never got that. I had to realise myself that what I was doing to myself wasnt okay and i'm not fully there, but if someone had talked to me like I needed I wouldve gotten there fast and not had instances I regret now

that's good. i've had multiple people get mad at me for self harming and practically everyone tells me to stop if they find out i've done it
