You are entitled to your own opinion but I am disagreeing with a lot of what you are saying, and I'm not sure if you are understanding our perspective either.

Also I want to add that there should be NO bad cops in the system ANYWAY, and even more so - they go almost unpunished every time (even when caught on tape it appears)
So tell me, who is it allowing them to go unpunished? Who is it turning blind eyes? The good cops? Good cops let bad cops do what they do best - be straight up evil. And to clarify - I am not completely blaming the 'good' cops, as I know the police community can be extremely hostile and reporting against a police officer can be potentially deadly! Yet another issue. :-)

Yeah I agree with that, I still think u can be a good cop and not report on issues within the community based on the backlash it can get. I also only want there to be good cops, I just don't want there to be none cops at all, or to remove everything and start from new, rather do it gradually so its easier. But there are also other problems, nothing will be solved by defunding cops because of the system around it is equally bad, so everything has to be fixed and that seems like it can't exactly happen so I settle for next best

And that "next best" would be what? Leaving police brutality as it is? Letting cops murder innocent people (mostly POC) and get away with it?

No I already said what I wanted, a gradual change in the system, but I also don't think u can just defund cops and expect things to be fixed, there is all the other stuff around it like the government, law system, the court etc etc which is where the problems start to appear cus its very hard to fix, all at once at least

I don't think difficulty should stop people from making that change though. It will be hard, this stuff has never been easy! But it will ultimately benefit a lot of people!

I understand where you're coming from, I really do. I also think that we need to do everything we can do right now to fix the issue as quickly as possible. I've stated in a previous post of mine that the money going towards the police is being spent on swat uniforms, riot equipment, weapons, and chemical weapons such as tear gas. Defunding the police wouldn't totally get rid of all their funds and money. It would greatly reduce money and unnecessary spending. This would force them to spend the money on the officers' salaries, training, and mental health screenings. I'm not for abolishing the police altogether. That would be beneficial for no one (and I have a police detective for an uncle). However, redirecting that money would allow for better healthcare, schools, and jails as well as improve the quality of police activity. I understand your mind is set and probably won't be swayed, but I hope I can at least give you a little more information.
