I think that if there was more focus on linguistics rather than fucking literature when teachers are trained to become teachers things would be very different. 

I had to learn french history and it was all in french and so now I pronounce Charlemagne the french way

It's funny because the northern dialects (including "middle"-Norway) maintains the conjugation pattern of feminine, but not the actual feminine. and i speak one of those dialects so i say shit like

I love languages but not Dutch it's cursed. 
I also have this weird pattern on ONE masculine noun: 
en bil - bilen/bila 
min bil - bilen min/bila mi 

BUT i'm not sure what the actual pattern is here. A book I came across about Norwegian claimed it was dative but Norwegian doesn't do dative anymore
