you just answered your own question: most people don't get yearly flu shots (mostly because many governments don't really encourage flu vaccines for everyone, those that do only do so for the vulnerable, elderly and those working in high traffic professions)

Most people don't get flu shots each year I think, at least here. Its mostly for babies ( children?), Elderly and ppl in tisk but I don't know anyone who has ever gotten a flu vaccine

Well most people are kind of morons because anywhere from 250k to 500k people die of the flu each year, and that's just the people who die.

That wasn't the point though, the point is that you should be getting flu shots every year because they don't hold up for longer than a season, and the same goes for the covid vaccine.

and didn’t really have a option

yeah, though many people don't even KNOW that because no one tells them
so I'm not surprised they don't understand the importance of corona, especially with so many people comparing it to the flu back when no one knew what it was and with so many people comparing the necessity of corona shots to the necessity of flu shots
since many think you don't need to get vaccinated against the flu, they also think that corona will not need any vaccines in the very soon future
