ok so basically

system = a person with multiple "personalities", usually caused by severe childhood trauma
singlet = a person with only one personality
DID/dissociative identity disorder = the disorder name of being a system
OSDD/DDNOS/unspecified dissociative disorder = the disorder name of being a system either without amnesia or without fully segregatet "personalities"
fronting = being in control of the body and conscious of the environment
co-fronting = two or more people fronting at the same time
co-conscious = one or more people being conscious of the environment while someone else fronts
passive influence = one person influencing what the one who fronts thinks/does/says
host = the person who fronts the most and is the 'leader' of the system
alter = another person in the head
headspace = where the host and alters live in the head, can usually be vividly visualised
internal communication = conversation between alters/the host in the head, usually not verbal
switching = going from one person/combination of people at front to another person/different combination

this is... the most important stuff. it's kinda complicated i guess

Is there a thing of like the "original" personality? Do most systems still have the original personality as one of the personalities, or is it not even a thing with an original one? And if it is, is it usually the host or can they have every other role too? U don't have to answer but im just curious tbh

sometimes there's a thing like the "original" personality, but it doesn't have to be the host. the host can change over time. i actually don't know if i'm the original personality, which i think is called the core? i think i am, but im not sure.
