Don't mean to generalise to strongly but I've lost count on how many times I've had this convo and it's a very clear pattern. It's always the other person that brings up how misunderstood the breeds are and how they see them for what they actually are. Ok cool but we weren't even talking abt that

It's like folks don't realize that humans literally bred these animals for certain characteristics
and some of those characteristics could be aggressive.
doesn't mean they can't be nurtured out but you right

i honestly just hate how people belive so strongly "the owners made the dog that way". it's not like you tell someone with ptsd their parents made them that way (or i mean it depends but get what i mean). and i don't mean bad breeding either things could have happened in that dogs life. some kind of trauma, illness, physical pain etc etc

I've definitely have known folks who have kept aggressive dogs for protection
which is kinda wild bc I feel unsafe at times in my neighborhood and I cannot imagine going that route lol
