(in towns where you can buy alcohol, that is)
alcohol is weird in the south

less than 50% of Kentucky counties are fully wet, (meaning you can buy beer, liquor, etc. in a store and take it home)
You can buy alcohol basically everywhere here, but our federalism game isn't that strong compared to the US.

The statistics surrounding dry towns are quite fascinating really tho
I was just reading on wikipedia

"Dry and moist counties in Kentucky had a higher rate of meth lab seizures than wet counties; a 2018 study of Kentucky counties concluded that "meth lab seizures in Kentucky would decrease by 35% if all counties became wet.""
(moist means you can buy alcohol in a restaurant with your meal)

"Data from the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) showed that in Texas, the fatality rate in alcohol-related accidents in dry counties was 6.8 per 10,000 people over a five-year period. That was three times the rate in wet counties: 1.9 per 10,000."

"A 2004 survey by the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association found that more than 500 municipalities in the United States are dry, including 83 in Alaska. Of Arkansas's 75 counties, 34 are dry. 36 of the 82 counties in Mississippi were dry or moist by the time that state repealed its alcoholic prohibition on January 1, 2021, the date it came into force, making all its counties "wet" by default and allowing alcohol sales unless they vote to become dry again through a referendum. In Florida, three of its 67 counties are dry, all of which are located in the northern part of the state, an area that has cultural ties to the Deep South."

my town is "moist" meaning you can buy alcohol in a restaurant with food, that restaurants revenue must be 70% or higher from food sales. If alcohol sales exceed 30% of their total revenue they can lose their liquor license or be fined.

The most difficult thing I found
while living in Italy
was where to buy alcohol on sunday
since most stores are closed
so I learned to stock up days ahead 🤣

the bible belt has the highest rates of obesity, teen pregnancy, STDs, heart disease, murder, divorce, and has the lowest rate of college graduation

Shouldn't be a problem here, most grocery stores and gas stations are open and will sell alcohol. The only moment it was prohibited, was when covid was at it's worst, you couldn't buy after 10pm. But you could easily just buy it before, that rule never made sense to me if i gotta be honest.

Do you know how sex ed, works within the bible belt? considering that teen pregnancies are common, while you are usually meant to save yourself for marriage? is it lack of education on prevention and so on?
