and even different counties and cities have different rules. Like, liquor stores are illegal in my town, but I can drive 20 minutes in either direction and they aren't.
What. So where do y'all buy alcohol? Do you just live under prohibition like it's the 20's?

Y'all I could talk about this all day
Do you know how sex ed, works within the bible belt? considering that teen pregnancies are common, while you are usually meant to save yourself for marriage? is it lack of education on prevention and so on?
I never had sex ed. At all, like, it just wasn't a thing. There was like discussion of the general biology in science class but that was literally it.

We have a really cool nonprofit in Kentucky that tries to bridge that educational gap though by bringing sex ed online, into communities outside of school, etc. and it's super queer inclusive.
Like I've said before - folks here are TRYING to do better, and writing off the south as a whole just makes it harder.

The most difficult thing I found
while living in Italy
was where to buy alcohol on sunday
since most stores are closed
so I learned to stock up days ahead 🤣
Shouldn't be a problem here, most grocery stores and gas stations are open and will sell alcohol. The only moment it was prohibited, was when covid was at it's worst, you couldn't buy after 10pm. But you could easily just buy it before, that rule never made sense to me if i gotta be honest.
If you really wanted anything that
badly over there
you could get it via gas coupons/Marlboro cigs
🤣

You guys don't get your liquor at the supermarket? Interesting
They sell it everywhere here too.
Same. Gas stations, supermarkets, kiosks, I don't think they sell any in the drug store but I wouldn't be fazed if they did.

I can drive to another town if I want alcohol - about 20 minutes for me. Some places have to drive even farther though, and those are the places that have bootleggers making and selling illegal alcohol.

I hope it's something the can implement more. I sure think that they are shooting themselves in the foot, not giving teens the proper education on that subject.

buying huge quantities of alcohol and bringing them to dry towns and selling them for way more than retail is a common practice.

I mean when you think about it, the more teen-parents, the more folks who are trapped in poverty with no choice but to work for slave wages, or, more crime, meaning more prisoners, meaning more slave labor.
Christian values are great for capitalism.

One particular taxi driver
always got the hook up from me (cigarettes)
because he was always so nice
and would even drive me during siesta hours
As for the gas coupons, many Americans sold them
if they lived within walking distance
of the ship.
the base frowned on it tho
and there was a penalty if caught
