Make album releases more personal
Account deleted

What if you could make album releases under the fans section more fun and personal by being able to choose simple things like genre/album type? And then other people could see your preferred types on your public account?

Before you release an album, you are met with a couple of drop down menus.

-- Choose album genre  --

Rock
Pop
Rock-pop
Metal
Country
Blues
Jazz
World music
Eurovision
Punk
Instrumental
**EDIT**
Rap
Hiphop
Electronic
Alternative

As an alternative, you could type the genre yourself with a character limit. Though this would be a win for people who want to release sub genres which are underrated or niche, trolls could misuse it which is not exactly the purpose, hmmm

-- Choose album type  --
EP
Vinyl
Live album
Studio album
Compilation album
Two-side album

With no type yourself needed

And finally, album length

-- Choose album length --

30 minutes
45 minutes
1 hour
1 hour 15 minutes

I just returned to Virtual Popstar after a long offline period and I had this idea just now. What do you all think about that? :p

Edit 2: Changed the title

For added realism, you could unlock certain lengths, genres and album types as you go along. Then you would get more motivated to use the feature. The social aspect certainly would be fun.
Maybe even collaborative albums as one of the top tier ones, where the fans and money get split between the collaborators. Your collaborations would then show on your profile for another nice touch of realism.

I think thats a perfect idea. It makes things much more interesting.
That along with coming up with the name of the album/tracks.

Thank you so so much

That way you could also tell people about your music taste without writing it in your bio, but having it be an interactive and meaningful part of gameplay

That would actually make me want to use it. I never spend time on gaining fans anymore because it's boring.

Thank you! Yeah, the album option as it is right now is pretty boring. Also, tours are way too short in my opinion. I wish you could choose the difficulty.

Longer tour = more work/travelling = more fans. Like a kind of work hard = get a better result.
One could argue it's onfair, but I think that system is really not, because if you're online a lot anyway during the holidays, it could keep you occupied and be good for fans gain at the same time. And you could also customise the difficulty according to your day. Busy day irl = less touring, doing nothing all day = more touring
