Did you know that September 9 is National Teddy Bear? These lovable, soft and comforting toys have warmed the hearts of children everywhere, and in doing so, have rightfully earned their own holiday!
History of the Teddy Bear:The Teddy Bear received its name from American President Theodore Roosevelt after his refusal to shoot a helpless bear gained the media's attention. As a result of the president's compassion for the bear and the media's coverage of the event, a store owner requested the president's permission to name a new toy bear after him. The toy was called the Teddy Bear and has been a favorite ever since.
To celebrate the Teddy Bear, the Event Team has designed two competitions for you to enter. Click the links below to find out the rules of these competitions.
