From Brazil to Vietnam, coffee is grown widely throughout the world and shipped off to the consuming countries of our planet. The coffee bean or "berry" is grown in many countries throughout Latin America, South-East Asia and Africa. When the "berry" is ripe, it's picked and dried until the seed inside can be extracted and ground up or packaged and shipped off to places like the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. The top five producers of the coffee bean are: Brazil, Vietnam, Indonesia, Columbia and Ethiopia. And you've probably guessed it by now, but the top consumer of coffee is the United States, using up to 22 million bags of coffee a year! Other places like Germany and Japan also consume mass amounts of coffee per year, but nowhere near to the same numbers as the USA. But, with a population as vast as the United States, it's not hard to believe.
We are holding two competitions for this event!
The first competition is to put your imagination and your taste buds to work. We want you to come up with the most delicious coffee or hot beverage. Describe to us your ideal drink and all it's ingredients.
