March 8th is International Women's Day! For one week we will be celebrating the birth of women world wide. Yes males are just as important as females but we'll hold a celebration for them on another day (on November 19th).  

What's so important about this holiday?

We're celebrating Women's Day because we finally live in a society where we can be treated like equals.

Facts about Women's Day:

-The Socialist Party of America designated February 28, 1909 as National Women's Day. It was celebrated on this day until 1913 when it was moved to March 8th globally.

-On the eve of World War I, Russian women and women all across Europe celebrated the holiday by protesting the war and campaigning for peace.

To all the females and males out there, be proud of yourselves. Don't let anybody, and I repeat anybody disrespect you because of your gender. We all deserve to be equal, to share the world as one.

What is a woman? What does it mean to be a woman? We all have our own opinion on the meanings of different words, the Event Team is interested in hearing yours. There are two activities that everyone may participate in, male or female.

What does the word "woman" stand for? Is there a special meaning in between the lines? In this contest all you need to do is create an acronym for the word "woman". An acronym is an abbreviation formed from the initial letters of other words and pronounced as a word.

What is a woman? What does it mean? We all define words in different ways, it can't be helped. We're all different. The Event Team would like to hear how you define the word "woman", not as a acronym but a definition that belongs to you and only you.
