The end of July has arrived, and with it comes this month's magazine!
Whether this has been the coldest or warmest month of the year in your hemisphere, we hope you've been able to enjoy the weather.

This month has been rather calm, both on VP and IRL, with an exception for the Olympic Games that currently is happening in Tokyo in Japan. Over 200 countries are currently competing in the games all with the same goal, to collect the most medals as they can. We have also seen some Olympics spirit on VP with at least one competition themed around the Olympic Games and maybe we will see some more during the beginning of August, the Olympic Games ends with the closing ceremony on August 8th. Later on in August, from August 24th to September 5th, the Paralympic games are hosted in Tokyo as well. The Paralympics is the Olympics for athletes with different kinds of disabilities.

This month’s mcw happened during the week commencing 5th July, and this month a total of twelve female and four male sets were available with credit purchases. The sets featured a variety of colours and styles - from Disney characters to street style and beach style! In addition to the six regular sets, females also got Solovey bonus sets with all the tiers, inspired by the zodiacs.

On the 10th it was time for the July auction, and the gorgeous sets featured mostly pinks and purples as well as some intricate patterns. The popdollar sets were designed by Shadowjess (F) and Lokes (M), while the credit sets were by Wishbone (F) and Misjel (M).

New BT members
In the beginning of this month, BT finally revealed who of the applicants would be joining the team. This happened after the applicants had been through a bootcamp where an aspiring blogger and layouter had to make a blog together. The topics of these blogs were Who owns the right to seeds? by Nesta and Rhinestone, The story of Keith Haring by Azriel and Limited, The Rise of Tiktok by Callum and BunnyButts, and Children’s cartoons in the Soviet Union by Evey and encrede. After evaluating the blogs and the process, the new writers were announced to be Azriel, Evey and Nesta, and the new layouters BunnyButts, encrede and Rhinestone. Congrats to you all from NT, we look forward to seeing your future work!

This month, the Event Team and Social Media Team both hosted three competitions each, giving users a variety of events to enter.

ET
Starting with ET, the first competition of the month was called Luna Lovegood Couture, which was the third in their witch and wizard themed series. In this competition, users had to create outfits inspired by Harry Potter character Luna Lovegood, who is known for her unique eccentric style. To enter, users had to choose one out of the three following occasions – a rave, a dinner with friends from Hogwarts, or a casual day out – to make a look for. The winners of this competition, which are yet to be announced, will win a lovely set with two colour variations designed by Rhinestone. To see all the magical entries, click here.

The second ET competition of the month was titled Creepy pastel dressup. As the name suggests, users had to dress up according to the theme for a chance to get their hands on one of the matching cute pastel coloured sets for both females and males, designed by Bones. There is still time left to get your entries in, as the deadline is 1st of August 23.59 CEST. To enter, click here.

The third and last competition hosted by ET was the first in a new series with an American Horror Story theme. In this competition, called AHS Murder House, users had to make an outfit inspired by one of the 24 ghosts in the TV series. Winners, which have not been announced yet, will receive a set designed by Encrede. To see the ghastly entries, click here. 

SMT
SMT started off the month with their classic Who wore it best-competition, which this time featured two blue items to style. Females had to make an outfit with a cap, while males had to make a look with a flower hairpiece. The 22 winners, who were announced on Tumblr, won either a set designed by DUCKBOY (females) or two hairs by Rhinestone (males). To see the all the entries, click here.

SMT's second competition of the month was held in celebration of the ongoing Tokyo Olympic Games, and required users to dress up as a new Olympic mascot. The winners will be announced on Twitter, so keep your eyes peeled there to see if you will be the lucky recipient of one of the matching sets made by Encrede and Iridiscencia. The last competition of the month was SMT's Dress up as an emoji. The rules, which can be found on Instagram, state that you need to create an outfit inspired by an emoji. As the deadline is 4th of August 23.59 CEST, you still have a few days to enter, so check out this thread if you want to submit a look.
