Ash's Top Ten Places to Travel! 8/7 (by Account deleted)

The United States is full of different travel destinations with beautiful national monuments. Here are the top 10 spots to travel in the U.S!

1. Fairbanks, Alaska
Alaska is a beautiful place to go. Even though you may not see as much light in Alaska that you would see in other places in the U.S. there are plenty of things to see there! The biggest thing you can see are the Northern Lights, they can be known as Aurora Borealis. You can see them 240 nights out of the year, from May to mid-August the daylight is too strong to see them. They are known for their beautiful colors in the sky.

There are plenty of things to do in Alaska besides seeing the Northern Lights. You can go to Taste of Alaska and taste some wonderful Athabascan cuisine! You can take part in a pub crawl at The Great Fairbanks Pub Paddle.

There are so many things you can do in Alaska! From the wonderful cuisine to the beautiful Northern lights you would not be disappointed in this trip to a wonderful city!

2. Louisville, Kentucky
People have been comparing cities in Kentucky to the new Portland, Oregon. Louisville is a city by the Ohio River! Louisville is known as the East District. It features warehouses used as local breweries, antique shops, and really cool restaurants!

Bardstown Road is covered with 'Keep Louisville Weird' stickers. Louisville is a very creative place and anyone would be lucky to visit there!

3. San Juan Islands, Washington
Author Brandon Sainsbury of the Lonely Planet guidebook has described the dreamy islands north of Seattle as the "Gourmet Archipelago".  You can find fresh food, local artichokes and marionberries from the farmers markets. and plenty of seafood at places like the Doe Bay Cafe on Orcas Island.

Enjoy a bike ride around the luscious islands of San Juan. The scenery alone takes your breath away!

4. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Aside from the cheesesteaks Philly is full of amazing things as the capital of art. The renowned museum called Philadelphia Museum of Art is full of beautiful pieces that bring out life in them. There are also a host of many different new bars, clubs, and live music venues.

Aside from the art, you get  a big sense Philly is full of many things to do! You will not be disappointed in Philly. Grab yourself a cheesesteak!

5. American Samoa
This lush South Pacific paradise island in the US territory is a fantastic place to go to get away. You have to go farther than Hawaii but the trek is well worth it! The beauty of the national park is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Lush waterfalls, fishing villages, and wonderful villages await you.

The best time to visit this island is on April 17, flag day, with all the activities in the world! It may be in the US territory but it screams Polynesia!

6. Eastern Sierra, California
Past the wonderful Yosemite park you visit the Cali dream: Eastern Sierra! There are plenty of natural landmarks like the hot springs in Bridgeport, the Gold rush Ghost town of Bodie, Mono Lakes calcified towers, and the basalt columns 60 feet wide with molten lava!

This place is all beauty!

7. Northern Maine
Three things: Moose, white water rafting, and hiking. That describes Maine for sure! Maine is not just lobster, rocky shores, and lighthouses. There is plenty of wilderness to explore with your family members and loved ones! It features the Appalachian trail that starts at Mount Katahdin, which means Great Mountain in Baxtar Great Park.

All of the natural looks paired with the beautiful activities you can do with Maine, you will never be bored!

8. Twin Cities, Minnesota
The Twin cities Minneapolis and St. Paul are some of the best places in Minnesota to visit! Minneapolis is known as the country's best bike city. Bike lanes on the streets galore with the new bike system! St. Anthony Falls heritage trail is a 2 mile path along the banks of the Mississippi River. St. Paul is the second most populated city in Minnesota.

                                               St Paul Jazz Festival

9. Verde Valley, Arizona
Between Phoenix and the Grand Canyon is Arizona's go to destination! The Verde Valley region is full of beautiful, green canyons with red rocks. Towns like Cottonwood, Jerome and Sedona draw visitors to the food, art, and mining lore. Verde is also known for its wine! You can reach the Alcantara Vineyards by kayak. Sounds fun doesn't it?

10. Glacier National Park, Montana
This is a favorite national park around the world to many people. The jagged icy glaciers are full of natural beauty and awe. The sad part about this national park is it could be gone by 2030 if the climate keeps going on the path it is going now. Go see it while you can!

These are the top 10 spots on my list to travel! Any one of them would make a good vacation with your family!

While I have loved the creative backgrounds the NT has been making recently, I wish you guys would make more articles unique to your own experiences! I wanna read about things you care about from your heart, not just a rewording (or C&P) of an article elsewhere sad for ex. I loved the Ramadan article. I hope this comment isn't too negative!
