we're getting vaccines so that covid's symptoms are less dangerous. if everyone gets vaccinated, there will be very little ppl on the intensive care, meaning covid isn't a big threat anymore
Every vaccine you get, you get before the risk presents. Infants are not yet being vaccinated against covid. It' s almost like people really only care about the unborn. I'd like to keep all unvaccinated infants safe. I do by staying in. Saying covid isn't a big threat anymore is what's a big threat.... it's so easy for healthy people to say "this doesn't effect me"... until it does.
Also, who ever said the thing about the plague, Bubonic had an outbreak in the US within the last 5-10 years.
infants & children are also way less often seriously sick from covid and rarely have long covid effects
i understand your point, and at the same time it's hard to say at what point staying in and social distancing is more harmful for society than getting covid is. countless of ppl having financial problems, mental health plummeting to an all time low for a lot of ppl, kids & teens falling behind on their education

I feel like more people need to catch it so more people have a certain level of immunity, and honestly I’m not surprised the cases have gone up with the way ppl are acting

main thing i'm scared about is if we get covid at work again bc jesus chrI>ST i cannot take it again. try to keep 20 dementia patients quarantined while like 85% of ur staff is sick 🥴🥴🥴

Omg, bless you for the work you do!
Also, got me thinking about how they(the patients) must feel when someone they might be "used to" doesn't come back.

yes, that is how it is supposed to go - but that is dependant on enough people vaccinating. if a neglible part of the population cant get the vaccine, it will be fine because herd immunity will be created. the problem is that there is a significant portion of the population not vaccinating! note that the vaccine is not a vaccine meant to lower spread, although vaccinated people do pose less threat of being infected and passing on infection - its meant to make the illness less deadly, to make the infection weaker. if a big part of the population dont get the vaccine, as we see in a lot of countries (if not most), it will fall flat. this is because of hospital capacity. if 95% of the population are vaccinated - yes, that is how it is supposed to go. but since there are a lot of western countries with a relatively low grade of vaccination - that is not how it went. not only do the unvaccinated spread the disease a lot easier, making covid cases soar, they also take up vulnerable hospital space.
