I also think online spaces very fast can twist what people say, and everyone thinks people post stuff in bad faith, which quickly makes it hard to speak out, because it has to be done "correctly", and I feel for famous people who's pressured to speak out on stuff online, because it's damned if you do, damned if you don't.
