I'm all for boycotting companies that support stuff I don't want to support, but I don't think I'll ever share any of these events on social media and I don't expect anyone else to share any of this on social media, because I am for online spaces being safe spaces and escapism for everyone. I understand why some people share stuff online, but I personally don't think it's my role online, because it becomes performative very fast. I don't think I've followed a single person who's shared anything about the Israel-Palestine "conflict" before this tragedy, (besides a single friend who's very outspoken about it and has been for years) but it's not a new thing ???

I also think online spaces very fast can twist what people say, and everyone thinks people post stuff in bad faith, which quickly makes it hard to speak out, because it has to be done "correctly", and I feel for famous people who's pressured to speak out on stuff online, because it's damned if you do, damned if you don't.

i do not thing anyone should have to suffer just because there are people that suffer. this is a very trauma based core view in my opinion, that everyone has to feel bad/suffer/etc just because someone does. yes, it is sad and terrible that bad things happen in the world. can everyone do something about it? i don't think so personally. talking about it makes others aware of it, yes, but it doesn't necessarily solve anything. i like to listen rather than to talk about things that don't concern me. idk activism isn't something anyone should be pressured into doing imo. not every single person will be an activist and i think it is okay and it doesn't necessarily mean people that aren't activist don't care about world issues. it's just that we all have different resources, physically and mentally, and we do things in different ways. nobody should be shamed for that i think.

i wish i could nail this post to my every social media profile because like, atleast for me i physically cannot join activism due to my physical and mental health and feeling like i am doing something wrong by not forcing myself feels so fucking exhausting.
I can definitely relate to that. Activism is exhausting (as it should be), but stressing about it and feeling like u have to force yourself is also exhausting. It's a terrible feeling
