 ReportπŸ–‹οΈ Finding consistency
In the end of November/beginning of December last year I got really ill. Like, more ill than I think I've ever been before. I got tonsillitis twice, had to have my tonsils removed, couldn't eat anything solid for about two weeka straight and lost a bunch of weight because of it. It was the weakeast I'd ever felt...

So when I began feeling better, finally got back to work after several weeks, I wanted to get my health and strength back once and for all.Β

I've been going to the gym on and off for years, but one way or another I've always fallen off. I'm not interested in building a bunch of muscles or anything, I just want my body not to hurt and feel strong.

This time felt different. I got back to the gym in January this year, and I wanted to set a clear goal so that I could keep myself accountable. I wanted to be able to run a 5k.

Said and done. After approximately 6 months of learning to run, I ran my first 5k race in the beginning of June. It felt like a massive accomplishment! I wasn't competing with anyone but myself, but I still felt like a winner. This was the first time I had intentionally trained towards something and then completed my goal.

When I focused on my running, I fell off a bit at the gym. But now I want to find that balance, do both, consistently.

For the first time in my life, training has been a consistent part of my weekly routine for longer than three months. I finally feel the urge to work out when I haven't done it in a few days.Β

I'm not very strics on particular days I need to work out on. I usually go with the flow of how my body feels, especially since working the night shifts can be pretty tiring. Tonight however, I had a very slow work night. So I sat down and created a schedule that I'll be testing out for a few weeks to see how it feels. If it's too overwhelming, I'll adjust it. It doesn't have to be too serious.Β

No matter what you're seeking to find consistency in, I hope this can inspire in some way. Because it has taken me literal years to get here, but I got here, and I'm certain you are able to create some consistency in your life as well.

This is amazing! Congrats on your 5k and coming so far! This is truly inspiring as I have recently been trying to get into the habit of going to the gym regularly. I love the thought of really "going with the flow of how my body feels," I will definitely try that more from now on.

I like itΒ

Tysm! πŸ₯° I'm glad you got some inspiration!
I find that "going with the flow" is the best in the beginning, strict schedules makes it feel more like a chore that's difficult to complete. Feel free to reach out if you want any other tips or tricks, or chat about the gym 😊
