ET: National Comic Book Day! (by

Every one loves Comic books, and National Comic Book day is a day dedicated to just that! A day dedicated to trading, reading, buying or just hanging out with a group of friends and talking about comic books. It's a very stereotypical thing that boys love comic books- full of action and heroes, but there are a lot of girls out there as well who have a passion for comics.
National Comic book day is often mistaken for another comic book themed day known as as Free Comic Day. Every since the day first started in 2001, every year since around the the beginning of May a comic book hero film is released - and to be more precise a Marvel character as well. See here to see which films have been released and read up a bit of Comic Book Day.
Contests! We all love contests,so here is some to sink your fangs into. Super Dress Up! Dress up as your favourite comic book character, may it be the hero, villain or just a side character. Go here to post your entries. Create a comic book hero/villain. The Winner of this contest, will have their hero/villain designed for them as a wearable outfit! This will be judged on my personal favourite entry! Describe or draw what YOU would look like if you were in a comic book. What would your powers be? Would you be the one who saves the day or the one trying to destroy it? Or maybe your just the side kick who has a secret unknown power. Be original, be creative but don't make a copy of current comic book characters!
What do you mean you don't like comic books?
Did you know that some popular TV shows were based off Comic books and even have games now? That's right, shows such as Sabrina: The Teenage Witch to the Walking Dead were originally based from Comic books. Even newer shows today who didn't originally have a comic book to base themselves off are now printing them - This would include Supernatural and Game of Thrones. Even Twilight has one now!
One of my personal recommendations would be the comic 'Fables'. Fables is now mostly known for the game 'The Wolf Among Us' which was created in 2013. While it goes into the general plot of the game, you see a lot more character development and behind the scenes of the game. Featuring some of our well loved Fables from the Big Bad Wolf all the way to Snow White, it is a brilliant game to pick up (demo is available on steam/PSN) if you aren't a fan of comics.
Comic-Con?
You read that right, Comics even have a convention dedicated to them and is one of the most popular TV/Show based ones there are. Appearing in not only the UK, but most states as well in the USA. Don't be put off by what you may see in old TV shows about conventions. It's not all guys sitting around acting out characters from Dungeons and Dragons, oh no, it goes much beyond that to the point just being at one can take you roughly over an hour just to walk around the centres. From Cosplayers to general Comic book lovers and traders, it's a day the whole family can enjoy if taken.
