Books and movies for the upcoming autumn (by Account deleted)

 Hello guys! Iu here.

As you know, autumn is close, and why not fight the boredom that'll occur by reading and watching movies? Since there'll be little time until school starts and after we'll have the weekends, a little bit of relaxation never hurts!

I've prepared for you three books and two movies that captivated me really much, and I hope you'll like them!

Surely, I'd be also really happy if you guys will share your favourites so everyone will have a more vague list!

And thank you, DEAR, for this truly wonderful layout!
Grotesque

Starting our little list with a crime & mystery work. Two prostitutes have been murdered in Tokyo; Yuriko had been working as a prostitute all her life, starting while still at school, where her stunning beauty compensated for what she lacked in intellect. Kazue worked for a blue-chip company. She chose to walk the streets at night where she hoped to get noticed. How and why did this tragedy occur?

Billy and Me

Billy and Me is a romantic novel, based on the life and secred of Sophie May: she had to give up her dreams of going to university and travelling the world only to stay in her little village, living with her mum and working in the local teashop. But then Sophie meets Billy Buskin - a famous actor with ambitions to make it to the top. As they begin to grow closer, Sophie finds herself whisked away from the comfort of her life into Billy's glamorous - but ruthless - world. After years of shying away from attention, can Sophie handle the constant scrutiny that comes with being with Billy?

Ready Player One

It's the year 2044, and the real world has become an ugly place. Wade Watts escapes this depressing reality by spending his waking hours jacked into the OASIS, a sprawling virtual utopia where you can be anything you want to be. And like most of humanity, Wade is obsessed by the ultimate lottery ticket that lies concealed within this alternate reality: OASIS founder, who dies with no heir, has promised that control of the OASIS and his massive fortune will go to the person who can solve the riddles he has left scattered throughout his creation. Suddenly, Wade finds himself pitted against thousands of competitors in a desperate race to claim the ultimate prize, a chase that soon takes on terrifying real-world dimensions and that will leave both Wade and his world profoundly changed.

Hello, my name is Doris

„Hello, my name is Doris” is both a great comedy movie and a romance & drama one. After her mother's death, Doris begins to take the path of a new life, as she actually falls in love with a younger man than her, that she had the luck to know at her workplace. Through the action of the movie, Doris makes decisions that she thinks are best to make her „crush” fall in love with her. This film is about love, surely, but it also gives the chills when needed.

Deathgasm

If you're searching for a movie that contains both great humour and gore, then „Deathgasm” is surely for you! The story is based on the both sad and hilarious life of Brodie, a metalhead that has the luck of living in a Christian place, where metal was viewed as summoning Satan. His life seems to hold him down, until one day, when he discovers something that could give him all the power he needed.

Oh I really wanna read Ready Player One!
Some book suggestions, for those who like (mostly YA) fantasy stuff:
- Morganville Vampires, it's a quite long series but very very fun to read and super exciting. It's about a town founded and run by vampires, hiding in plain sight.
- Anita Blake series, a more adult (wouldn't recommend reading it if you're under 16-18 or if you dislike gore, a bit creepy stuff and sex) series. There's vampires, were-animals (werewolves, wererats, etc), and some other supernatural creatures. The main character is a vampire executioner/hunter and necromancer (she raises the dead), who is a super strong and badass woman named Anita Blake. The series is still ongoing, and started in the 90's, but it's insanely exciting and very well written!
- Daughter of Smoke and Bone, a very cute and interesting series with angels and chimaeras, mysteries, love and a girl trying to find herself. There are some plot twists, some very adorable scenes, some sad scenes and some action.
- Atlantia (not a series, just a single book), about a city underwater and two sisters. The city underwater is falling apart, and people have choices to make. A book about sisterly love, mysteries about the world and those who run/made it, and a race against time.

I have lots of other books and book series that I would love to recommend, but if I was gonna write (and remember them all) is sit here all day. :p
