How To Start School Positive (by Private)

Helpful sites for your soul

Hello there, guys! Iu here, and I'm going to talk about some of the most useful sites I've found so far, since they are easy to use!

Got problems because you can't stop staying off your favourite social media? No problem at all! KeepMeOut is your place to go! It's very simple to use it and it will surely help you through the school year!

This site literally is one of the best! Quizlet is an interactive platform which provides study sets, helps you with improving your grades by studying with flashcards and more!

If you ever find yourself lacking motivation to write that term paper, Written? Kitten! will be your savior. You set a word count, and whenever you've typed that many words, you're rewarded with a new picture of a kitten, puppy or bunny. Who says writing papers can't be fun?

If you're feeling down with all kinds of tests and assignments, UStream is guaranteed to cheer you up! It streams live videos of all kinds of cute animals, and who doesn't love cute animals?

I talked about it last time, but I'll mention it again! Google Academic is one of the most helpful sites when it comes to searching for certain things for your projects, as you don't have to browse so much articles as you used too!

I hope this will help you guys through the new school year! I wish you all the best!

How to combat anxiety

School can always be a bit rough especially when you first start out. Even worse when you get anxiety over just entering your new classroom or over a test. Here are some tips on how to combat your anxiety over these things. Most are pretty much the standard procedure but they can help a ton.

  1. Control your breathing

  • Breath in slowly and gently through your nose for about 5 to 7 seconds

  • Hold your breathing for around 3 to 4 seconds

  • Then breath out slowly and gently through pursed lips (like as if your whistling) for about 7 to 9 seconds

  1. Use positive self-talk

  • Use positive words of wisdom to help calm your mind

  1. Do light activity before going to school

  • Try to do a light morning jog to help release the tension before going to school

  • Doing yoga is also a nice light activity to do as it not only releases tension but also helps focus your mind

  1. Use a calming visual

  • Seeing cute photos of animals or anything that makes you feel calm is a great way to help you feel calm

Hope the tips could help you all in some way! Thanks for reading!

How to be positive during school!

Hey guys, Hailee here! What many of you don’t know is that I’ll be starting school in a few weeks! Like most of you guys, this will be a new experience for me as well, as I had taken off a year from College and University.

Truth be told, I’m not looking forward to going back. It was so nice to have an entire year off to just work full time and do whatever I wanted. As much as I am dreading going back into the routine, I’m looking forward to furthering my education and getting a Bachelor’s degree.

Here are some of the tips that I’m going to be using in the next few weeks when courses do start up again. And if you have any ways to stay positive feel free to share with me!

Tip #1 See the better in things!
Instead of thinking of things in a negative way, reflect on the positive outcome that it will give. For this, I like to keep a journal, and at the end of the day, I write 1-2 good things that happened to me that way! And whenever I’m having a bad day, I can go back to the journal and read about all the nice things that have happened.

Tip #2 Surround yourself with positive energy!
I made this mistake many times, don’t surround yourself with friends who will bring you down. Focus on your strengths, and push yourself to be the best. I like to keep a few sticky notes in my binders, with a few of my strengths and my good qualities, if you ever feel down it gives you an excellent boost of positive!

Tip #3 Use criticism to your advantage!
I get it, we all hate it when someone says something negative about our work or something we’ve worked hard on. Just remember, this person is trying to help you. They aren’t trying to put you down, they are just giving you pointers on how you can improve if you don’t agree with them, say thank you. If you don’t agree with them, get someone to look over your work once again! Many schools have peer students who are hired to look over your assignment and help you improve on what you have done already!
