What is your name, and what are some of your hobbies? My name is Marlene and I really enjoy drawing, reading about philosophy and lying in the sun !! Not really the most interesting hobbies but i'm happy with them !!
How long have you been on VP? I think I have been here for like ,, 8 months ? Damn that's a long time ,,, I originally started off on the German server but I became more active here since this server is more active especially in the design thread!!
What programs do you use to design? I only use Paint Tool Sai, since I'm most used to that;; My pen pressure stopped working ever since I got my new PC so maybe I'll try out some new programs in the future !!
What inspired you to start designing on VP? Hmmm, two of my closest friend on the internet have been designers on GSM and since I am more comfortable with Paint Tool Sai than the designer tool back in the GSM days I wanted to try it out !! And since learning something new and making progress in it is fun to do I stuck with it !
Where do you get inspiration from? Hmmm ,,, mostly I get inspired by just;; Colors? I love colors a lot,,, And also nature things !! Like clouds or stars !! Also other designers from here ,,, Everybody is so talented it's hard not to get inspired by other designs on here!! Like when Rowan started the Witch-Design trend!!
What was your first design on this site? It's from October of last year and while it's not that good in like ,, quality,,, I still like the concept!!
What is your favourite design you've made on this site? I like this one from the Designer Competition a lot at the moment !! Changes a lot though, depending on my mood;;;
Do you have any advice/tips for people who want to get into designing? Hmmm,, Don't be afraid to go into it without a plan !! Sometimes you come up with designs as you are designing them ! you don't always need a fully realized plan ! It's also not bad to zoom in on other designs to see how other people design certain things that you can't seem to get right !! ((Don't copy stuff tho ,, ) Personally looking at encredes skins and shoes helped me a lot in figuring out how shapes could be and where I could shade? Which I then applied to my own style!
What can we expect in the future from you? Maybe,,, I'll be a designer in the future? Like a badged designer,, Depending on how I do in the competition that is on rn !! I also hope that I ,, develop further ? And get better, I'm definitely am moving towards more realized color palettes right now, so maybe more colorful designs?
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be? I really want to visit Norway again !! I love nature a lot and I was in like a forest cabin with my family once and that was great ! Norway in winter could be very pretty... !
If you were stranded on an island and could have 3 items, what would they be? A swiss army knife, a water filter and a very big medieval zweihänder
