Tank tops, shorts, flip-flops crowded parties and beaches. Children running down the street laughing, eatingice cream and enjoying themselves. You're reading a nice book, sweat on your forehead as you are lounging on a lawn chair or sitting on a porch swing, careful not to lay your feet flat on the burning hot asphalt. Everything seems perfect but with summer comes summer break and I feel it isn't the best time of the year.
1. Friends. My friends are always going off on exciting vacations during summer. Whether it's somewhere in Europe, or somewhere in Australia they are always off somewhere ready for an interesting and unforgettableexperience. Unfortunately they never take me with them. So where will I be doing all summer? Having a nonstop lifetime movie marathon, all alone in my bedroom. Fun.
2. To add on to that, summer is actually pretty boring for me. The first few days are the best. I can go to the beach, or maybe the mall. I can have a nice picnic at the park, or I can finally finish watching Game of Thrones like I have been wanting to since forever. But when you live a few seconds from the beach and practically live on it all year long..it doesn't seem as exciting after the first few times. And if you really want to be honest with yourself, you don't have the money to actually spend time shopping. (And shopping isn't as fun without friends) Slowly your list filled with endless summer possibilites gets smaller and smaller. Really, how many times can you watch reruns of Pretty Little Liars?
3. Family It's easy to enjoy the company of your siblings with you never see them. Between club meetings and such, they don't have time to annoy me. When you're stuck in a house together however, people cross lines here and there and heated friendly arguments discussions are easily started.
What's your favourite season? Do you like summer/summer break? What do love most about summer if so?
Here's a summer riddle:How many series can you watch in one summer?
Here is a list of three of my favourite series you should consider watching this summer. Stream them instantly on Netflix or Amazon Instant Video.
Scandal -"A White House Communications Director leaves to start her own crisis management firm only to discover she hasn't left the past behind." Scandal has an intriguing story and I'm glad it kept it up. It has so much drama but none of it seem forced. Everything that happens is always shocking but realistic and moves rather smoothly. Available on Netflix and Amazon Instant video.
Revenge - "A young woman returns to the Hamptons to exact revenge on the people who destroyed her life." Revenge get stuck in a hole every now then. The plot is well planned and it's really interesting how things come together. At times it seems things are being dragged out far too long but then something surprising happens and you forget all about your doubts. I definitely recommend it. Available on Netflix and Amazon Instant Video.
Game of Thrones "Seven noble families fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros." Game of Thrones is well constructed, has an amazing and complex story and doesn't fail to unfold in a steady pace. I promise you won't disappointed. Available on Amazon Instant video.
Updates
Some more updates have been made! The front page of the site has a new look. In place of the Virtualpopstar video ad that didn't go well, is new boxes. One shows the latest users who have become friends on the site, the second one has the site site statistics and the last one displays comments made by users on the site.
The page has recently been translated and may get Virtualpopstar some attention. We have gotten 2000+ users since the change was made. Unfortunately the amount of active users have not gotten any higher. We hope this will change over time.
Another update that was recently made is one that gives non members who happen to find Virtualpopstar by a thread or page of some sort, access to surf the site. We have the option to hide our usernames from them if we wish. More updates are on their way to Virtualpopstar soon.
