Hello everyone,

Hope you're all doing well. May was quite the month wasn't it? I just want to go over some main things that have happened or that are ongoing in case you missed any announcements.

Earlier this month, the Dutch server received an attack on users' personal information. None of the information was taken from VirtualPopstar directly as not much is held, but through other means. However, the information that was obtained was being spammed across the server via messages. To help combat and support this, the administration team and moderator teams agreed to have registrations temporarily closed. This prevents any emails being sent to players directly from VirtualPopstar. As of writing this I haven't had any notification that it's been lifted, but I'll provide an update as soon as I'm able. All relevant parties have been contacted and necessary actions are being taken.

On a lighter note, for any main male accounts who suffer from the wardrobe glitch - there is now a solution! It appears that during the implementation of the new starter sets, the original bases got broken in the process. The way to resolve this is by using the plastic surgery options to change your account's base to skin type 1, face 1. As this is a system error, any accounts that need correction will be provided the credits to do so.

I have also requested the change of two fashion contest themes as requested. Please remember that if you submit a suggestion for a Fashion Contest theme, it should be appropriate. The themes Indian and Africa will be swapped out for Space and Shopping Trip. I'm just waiting for the update as I'm unable to manually change these myself.

The user of this month is none other than Hypoxic. She is well-known throughout VP as a sweet and caring person, and for her dedication to the teams she is a part of. As a mod as well as member of ET and SMT, she does a lot of work to keep VP both safe and fun.Her team work is also one of the main reasons she was nominated for Member of the Month of May, especially with her work during the ET bootcamp. Here is what some bootcamp members as well as friends have to say about why she is a great pick for the title.

Hypoxic has shown dedication to her various roles on this website, puts in her full efforts into the assignments she is given and takes personal initiative on. Being on various teams comes with A LOT of commitments, which can be hard to manage given how busy we all are in our own personal lives; she always gives it her best.

Hypoxic was is the best candidate for this month! The help they gave us [with the bootcamp] was unflawed, they were quick to respond to any queries we had and made the whole experience so pleasant! Which is why we dubbed her The Flash  Need help? She will be there in the blink of an eye! A true queen and icon that we at bootcamp stan big time <3

Photosynthesis

Zöe is my rock, my everything, and my best friend. I'd be lost without her. The one person I can be 100% myself with, who I tell everything (even if she doesn't want to hear it). The one that makes me laugh when I've had a bad day. I tell her how much she means to me everytime I'm drunk haha. She works so hard at everything she does and I just love her so much. She deserves MOTM because honestly no one really knows what she does as it's mostly behind the scenes. We love and appreciate you Zöe <3

Baileyyrosee

Hypoxic is such a great choice for your user of the month! Zoe is an extremely caring person and such a sweetheart. She also is very dedicated and helpful when it comes to something she is working on. But she is also a great person to come to if you ever need to talk about something. She has been there for me when I've been upset and just needed a shoulder to cry on and has made me feel better. She is honestly such an amazing person.<3

ThugWorkout
Zöe is my best friend in the whole world. I have spoken to her every day during this lock down and no matter what kind of mood we are in, she always knows exactly what to say to me and we constantly have each other squawking from laughter. Hernandez will always have a strong place in our hearts and so will roleplaying, and I don't know what we are going to do when we had to go back to work and face real life. Oh, and how can I forget that she constantly sends me timtoks of Bois. If anyone gets the privilege as I do if being her friend, they're very lucky because no matter what crap life throws at her, she seems to grab it by the horns and I just want her to know how proud I am of her.

Auction
This month's auction was held on the 8th of May and featured four sets by three different designers. The female pd set featured a cute scarf and beret, and was designed by Mjom. The male set, featuring a purple hair, was designed by Shadowjess. The female credit set was a blueskinned long-neck set made by Solovey, while the male credit set featured a pineapple t-shirt and rollerskates, designed by Shadowjess. According to the poll made by the Forum Team, the female pd set was the most popular design.






MCW
This month's mega credit set week ran from the 4th to 11th of May and included ten sets made by seven different designers. For females, there were seven sets in total, including a bonus set in the 12€ package. The sets were made by Ad0xa, Eve, Mikkelrev, Songbird, Wishbone and Solovey. For males, there were three sets, made by Freckle, Songbird and Mikkelrev. To view all the sets, click here. 

Wardrobe/shop update
As you might have seen, it is now possible to sort your own wardrobe, as well as the regular shop, to show full sets only. You can also see what items you have more than one of by selecting "Double items" in the "Show only"-menu.

As SMT has been on hiatus, ET’s bootcamp has been the main source of official competition activity from VP teams during May. Over three weeks, the bootcamp members, who were split into two teams - Team Orange and Team Purple - each got to be a part of hosting three competitions / events. 

Starting off with Team Orange, their theme was based around fairytales. They created their own little tale ‘The tale of Team Orange’, about the brave and creative citizens of Virtual Popstar and their journey to Event Land in the hopes of landing a spot on the Event Land council. 

In order to reach Event Land, they had to pass through three quests, the first of which, the hopefuls needed outfits to fit the land around them, thus they hosted a dress up competition called ‘fit into the picture’. The task for everyone wanting to help out was to create an outfit to fit into one of three images from the land Team Orange was exploring, and all the chosen winners received fairytale appropriate sets made by the team’s designer Lily. 

The second quest Team Orange had to fulfill, was to get as many people as possible to “look back [...] and reflect on their fairytale memories”. This led to a fun quiz night, testing all the Virtual Popstar citizens on their original fairytale knowledge. The prizes were a "vitamin C filled treat" - oranges! These special oranges were designed by one of Team Orange’s layouters, Chlorine.

As Team Orange could finally see Event Land in the distance, an obstacle appeared - villains! The third and final quest they encountered on their journey was to defeat a gigantic troll, and to do this, they needed all the help they could get collecting information on fairytale villains and other evils. All you had to do to help Team Orange was to share your villainous knowledge and solve their crossword! Everyone who successfully tackled the crossword was rewarded with a “disguise that can fool any villain”, which were sets made by talented Lily. And as a last hurray and to celebrate that Team Orange successfully made it to Event Land, they handed out orange themed gear to everyone, again designed by Lily!

Moving along to Team Purple and their theme, popcorn and pillows, based around movie nights and TV show marathons! For the prizes, this bootcamp team tried something a bit different, a tier system, where in order to obtain the main prize, you had to participate in all of their three events. For participating in one event and obtaining tier one, you received 5 000 pd, for two events and tier two, the prize was 30 cr. Then, for participating in all the three events, you would receive the main prize, hot purple bunny sets designed by Team Purple’s designer Delcinne. 

Team Purple’s first event was based around memes, and the task was to come up with a caption to all of the four images they had posted, which all were collected from well known films and TV series. There were no prizes for this event in particular, but by participating you were one step closer to win the tier three prize. 

The second event Team Purple hosted was, like the other team, a quiz night. This quiz was of course based around TV shows and movies, but as a fun twist, every second out of the 45 questions were a line of gibberish to descramble. For this event, everyone could win a total of three times each, where each win gave you 20 cr. On top of that, at the end of the night everyone who had been actively participating in the quiz, regardless if you had won or not, were rewarded with a special code with items again designed by Delcinne. 

For their third and final event, Team Purple had put together a cosy dress up competition, where the theme was as you might suspect, to dress up cozy for a movie night! In addition, each participant had to write a sentence or two about their favourite movie and why that is. The prizes the winners of this dressup competition received was a cozy movie night set, beautifully designed by Delcinne.
