NT Magazine: June (by NewsTeam )

Happy Pride month everyone! Although the month is coming to an end, we in the News Team still wanted to celebrate, and thus, each page in this magazine has its own colour palette, to represent different Pride flags. In addition, we have prepared a little LGBTQ+ themed quiz for you, which you can find towards the end of this magazine. And if you haven’t read it already, make sure to check out BloomCissi’s article on LGBTQ+ icons throughout history from earlier this month here

In other news, this is our 30th official NT magazine - which is very exciting! A lot has changed over the past two and a half years, however the main structure of the magazine has remained the same. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the amazing feedback we have gotten on the magazines, we have a lot of fun making these and we really appreciate all your kind words. Here’s to 30 more!

This month we have prepared a classic magazine for you, so we hope you enjoy looking back at this past month on vp with us!

Love,

the News Team

Mega Credit Set Week

This month’s Mega Credit Set Week started on May 31st and lasted until Sunday June 6th. There were sets for many different tastes, with the female ones being made by Shadowjess, Jen, Evie, Aske and Solovey, and the male ones made by Jen, Teddy, Trainor and Aske. For the females there was an extra bonus in the shape of some bonus Solovey sets inspired by the different characters from the WITCH series. You can see all the sets for yourself here

June Auction

June’s auction started just before the MCW ended, namely on June 5th. The pd sets were matching sets made by Annie with a butterfly theme. The male was made by Ellem, and the female by Solovey. You can see the sets below or check out the Auction thread here

New manager sets

Something exciting happened this month as well: on June 1st, we got new manager sets! The female is a cute cat lady designed by Bones, whereas the male set is a more punk glam look made by Melk. They are still available for the foreseeable future when buying manager!

As you probably know, the Blogger Team hosted applications during three weeks in May. As usual, those interested had to fill in an application form and submit three texts or layouts to the team. In the beginning of June, BT announced which applicants had made it to the next round. In total, eight candidates, four potential writers and four potential layouters, were chosen for the bootcamp. The eight candidates were then paired up and tasked with making a blog each. Three bootcamp blogs have been posted so far, with the last one soon to come. If you have missed them, you can check them out on the Blogger Team account here. We in the News Team would like to wish the bootcampers good luck, and look forward to seeing who the new members will be!

Event Team

ET continued their Harry Potter competition series this month by taking the users to Potions Class, where they had to unleash their inner pioneer or potioneer as some may say in the wizarding world and brew their own potions. The theme was Daily Life, and two templates were provided for users to choose between as the base for the potions. For the winning potioneers waits these magical rewards made by Misjel!

If you want to see all the magical potions and desperately wish that they were actually real, as I did after seeing the entries, you can look through them all in this thread

Social Media Team

SMT made this month not only Pride Month, but also Fairy Month! They hosted their usual Who Wore It Best competition, where users this time around were tasked with dressing up as a fairy, using these wings provided by Encrede.

All the beautiful fairies can be found in this thread, and the winning entries, who all were rewarded with a fairy set made by Helmi, were announced on Instagram.

Next up, SMT wanted to learn more about all these fairies — like where they live, and what their home looks like. Thus, they created the Fairy Home competition, where they asked the users to create a collage to represent their fairy’s home, for a chance to win the prize sets made by Snailman (F) and Bones (M).

All of the finished collages can be found in this thread.

SMT did not forget about pride month though, as their last competition for this month is a dress-up competition themed around pride. Users can interpret the theme in any way they like, and create some stunning pride-related looks. This competition is still open until 23:59 PM CEST on July 2nd, which means you still have a shot at winning the prize sets made by Heist (F) and Kofod (M) by posting your pride-look in this thread.

LE Sunday

On June 6th, Shadowjess hosted a limited Sunday which meant that every half an hour from 17.00 to 20.00 GMT+1 there were new sets/items in the fashion shop for credits. Unfortunately there were no male sets this month so it was only an event for the female accounts. If you want to read more about it you can do so in this forum!

DT male design motivation

On June 7th the DesignerTeam announced that they will have a thing they call “Male Design Motivation” which means users who submit a male design to DT which is good enough quality will be awarded with credits. The sets need to consist of a top, bottoms, hair, shoes or socks and accessories. A set can either be approved for shop or WOF quality which results in 200cr, HOF quality which is 300 cr, DM quality would result in 400cr and then there’s MCW quality which is 600 cr. If you want to read more about the event, you can do so here!

SMT Fairy DTIYS

The social media team has been celebrating fairy months with a bunch of fairy related events and one of those events is their “Fairy Draw This In Your Style”. To participate in the event the users had to draw the prize set which was a fairy design made by Petal, all those who participated and followed the rules and criterias for a valid entry got the prize. To read more about the event, click here.
