Picturesque Files: Edition 2 (by Account deleted)

Hello girls! I am very excited to share with you not only one, but four beauty related How-to's! You will learn how to create: A tinted lip gloss, lip stain, mascara, and blush.

Disclaimer**I try to keep these How to's pretty basic, the goal is to save you money and have you create these products quickly. Of course there are much better ways to create all of these products but I'm sure a lot of you wouldn't have beeswax or activated charcoal capsules at home. Keep in mind that I try to keep these simple and I know that these products will not be the highest of quality.

How to: make mascara

♥This mascara is recommended to use if you really have to. I wouldn't suggest that you use this everyday if you have access to a real mascara. However, if you've just ran out and really need one to get through the day, to make this you will need...
♥ Aloe vera gel and black eyeshadow. Take a very small amount of Aloe vera gel, keep in mind this is only for your eyes and you want it pigmented. I'd suggest maybe a dime size amount or less. Take a black eyeshadow and add it to the aloe vera gel, then mix. Test it on the back of your hand until it reaches the pigmentation you want. Feel free to add more eyeshadow to make it darker. It might be a little tricky applying this, seeing as you don't want clumps of aloe vera gel on the tips of your eye!

How to: make blush

♥ For this how to blush you will need a powder foundation (one that you don't use anymore is suggested) and pink eye shadow. Scrape some of the eye shadow and some of your powder foundation onto a paper plate and mix them together. Start off with a small amount of both. As you add more of each product, test it on the back of your hand to check if it's the color you want. To lighten it add more foundation and to darken it add more eye shadow. It will add a very natural color to your cheeks, and save you money!

How to: make tinted lip gloss

♥ This tinted lip gloss requires two simple ingredients that will add a natural, tinted look to your lips.
♥ For this you will need petroleum jelly (Vaseline) and red food coloring (a substitute for food coloring is eye shadow). Simply take some of your petroleum jelly (Vaseline) and put it into a container. If you plan on saving this for multiple uses, a container is recommended. If you just want to test it out or make a new batch each time, scoop some out onto a paper plate, enough for you to use once or twice throughout the day. Add one drop of red food coloring and mix until it's completely blended. It may not seem like it, but one drop of red food coloring will be very pigmented, depending on how much petroleum jelly you're using. Apply it to your lips and there you have it, a tinted lip gloss! Feel free to add more petroleum jelly if it's a bit too dark, or add another drip of red food coloring if it's too light.

How to: make a lip stain

♥ If you just wanted a lip stain (w/o shine), I would suggest using a raspberry or even a cherry. They are known for staining our fingers and will add a little pop of color to our lips! After applying it to your lips, it's time to snack away on what's left of these delicious fruits.

I am very hopeful that atleast one of you girls will find one of these four how to's beneficial or useful at some point in your life! Feel free to mail me your results or questions!

Cake Pops

Background - I recently went to a graduation party where one of the desserts were cake pops. After I tried them, I fell in love - and decided to try them for myself!

Prep time: 30 minutes
Freeze time: 1 hour
Total time: 1 1/2 hours
Servings: 10-20

What you will need:
- A toothpick
- Styrofoam
- 10-20 lollipop sticks
- 12 oz of candy coating
- A cake baked in a 13x9 pan (your choice of cake flavor)
- A tub (2 cups) of frosting (your choice of color)

Directions:
- Break up the cake into fine crumbs and place into a large bowl
- Add in frosting a little bit at a time until cake is moist. Use a spoon or your hands (recommended) to mix it in. The cake should be able to hold a ball shape but still be slightly crumbly. *The exact amount of frosting needed will depend on the moistness of the cake*
-  Roll cake into small balls using an ice cream scooper or a small teaspoon
- Set them aside on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper
- Place in freezer for approximately one hour to make them easier to work with
- In the mean time melt the candy coating in the microwave or using a stove and stir until smooth
- After an hour has passed take balls out and use a toothpick to poke a hole in the bottom of each one
- Dip the end of the lollipop stick in the candy coating and place inside the ball via the hole you just created with the toothpick (The melted coating will help hold the stick in the cake pop)
- Submerge the cake pop in candy coating and tap it on bowl to remove excess candy coating *if you don't it will drip down the lollipop stick*
- Place them in either Styrofoam by sticking the lollipop end in it or on a baking sheet upside down (which will create flat tops to the cake pops - not recommended)
- Drizzle them with melted chocolate, sprinkles, nuts, etc while the coating is still wet
Enjoy!

Hey everyone! Welcome to the second column of Ask Ash! I hope you enjoy these columns! Continue sending me your questions on the EditorialTeam model! I will answer every single one!

Q: Hi Ash. My mom and I cannot stop fighting and I do not know what to do. I can't reason with her. What should I do? -Scared Sally

A: Well. I've had quite a few fights in my time with my mother as well. I think you need to sit down with her over lunch and just talk about your concerns. It can be hard but you can do it!

Q: I'm starting high school this August and I am so nervous for my freshman year. Any advice?

A: I had my freshman year last year. I was terrified. I was scared I wouldn't have anywhere to sit or no one would talk to me, those worries are normal. But, just calm down and think: I will make friends. Because you will! Everyone does :-).

Q: I know this isn't exactly asking for advice but I have a question about the Editorial Team. Why can't I see your new badge? Also, I really like the news system you all have!

A: To see our new badge you must press control + f5 twice. If it does not show up switch browsers or shut down and try again. Thanks! We are still making improvements. I hope you keep reading!

Q:My parents got divorced this last year and I feel uncomfortable in a room when they are together. Should I tell them or just ignore it?

A: I would definitely tell them. There is no shame in telling them how you feel. Just be straight with them. All they can do is tell you they can try to get along well. Hope this helps!

Q: I got bullied my eighth grade year in middle school and I am scared my freshman year will be the same. What should I do? -Scared Sandra

A: I was bullied a lot throughout middle school. My high school experience has been quite different, aside from the boy trouble (totes normal though.). Did you tell an adult about the bullying in eighth grade? Did it stop? If not, tell him or her. If you are still worried, try and confide in someone you trust. Things will get better!

Thanks for asking questions! I hope to see some more next week! <3
I turn my back for one second and suddenly I can hardly go on anyone’s blog without being greeted by an eyeful of sugary, pastel coloured flowers crowning someone’s head - a flower crown.

I’m not sure exactly when they became a “thing” or what got the flower crown ball rolling but I’ve got a few leads as to where the idea may have stemmed from.

Although it’s very unlikely this is where hipsters grabbed their inspiration from flower crowns actually made a brief appearance in the 60’s, where they featured on many magazine covers donned by 60’s pinups and models! But even before the 60’s (and I mean way, way, WAY before) Ancient Greeks and Romans used to wear flower crowns as a celebratory gesture.

My best guess it that it was Lana (Del Rey) who really got the fun crowns circulating in the tumblr community, as she’s an impressionable figure to teenagers everywhere who no doubt holds a lot of influence over fashion. So wearing one in her music video ‘Born to Die’ was a sure fire way to advertise the trend to over a hundred million people!

(Kavita, from the blog shewearsfashion)

Fashion blogges were next to catch on and now the trend shows no signs of stopping. If you're heading to a festival this summer prepare to be greeted with a sea of rhythmically bobbing flower crowns - you have been warned!

Have you jumped on the bandwagon yet?
I have always wanted to make those adorable dream catchers for my bedroom. They are the perfect way to cover up those bare walls of your room! Today, I will be showing you how to make these effortless (literally not that much effort at all) dream catchers.

  Optimized Image

What you will need:
-A piece of Doily
-A hoop of any kind (Bangle, Embroidery rings)
-Wool/Embroidery Thread/Yarn
-Beads and embellishments
-Feathers

Here is how an embroidery ring and a piece of doily look like:

  Optimized Image

Firstly, wrap your wool around your hoop as tightly as you can making sure the loops are close to each other. Once you've reached the end, tie it by doing a double knot to secure it in place.

Next, create a loop at the top. This will act as a 'hanger' so that you can hang it!

Grab your doily and cut it to size if you need to. It should be as big as your hoop and to make things easier, cut it in a hexagonal shape.

After you've done that, place it in the middle and start attaching the corners of your doily to the hoop stretching the doily.

Now start attaching some strands of wool of any colour and size threading beads and adding embellishments of your choice. Don't forget to add those fabulous feathers to give it that final 'pazaaz'.

You should be proud of your cute little creation! Hang it anywhere you please! Just be sure to have a clear view of it before you go to bed.

  Optimized Image

You've just learned how to make a dream catcher. I would love to see how you made your dream catchers so post images in the comment box below!

It's time for the second edition of VP news here in the Picturesque Files series! Today we are going to be talking about earning popdollars & fans.

Recently, we had an update on levels - the levels had changed and many of us had dropped levels. Now a lot of us are working to earn more fans to level up. There are many different ways to earn fans and popdollars, so let's get started!

First of all, you can take singing lessons, dancing lessons, and perform. These are the most common ways to earn fans and popdollars. Performances earn you both while singing and dancing lessons cost popdollars but give you fans. These have time limits on them - the higher the level, the longer you wait, but there is also more of a prize for higher levels.

You can tour, too. Most of us belong to a record label and we can either tour personally or in the record label. Record label tours cannot be started by anybody though, it must be started by the label owner or a label moderator, so those aren't always an option.

You can also battle other players! Battling consists of doing 5 different tasks in 5 different countries - the tasks will be either taking singing lessons, taking dancing lessons, or performing. The higher the level you are playing against, the more prize you may get. Although this is a 50-50 chance, you may still earn a lot if you win.

Releasing an album can earn you a lot, too! Releasing albums does cost some popdollars in the beginning and it requires you to do one task a day in a specific country. If you miss a task, the album release will fail and you will not receive your prize, so it takes a lot of focus to complete and win.

Play the competition games, of course! There are 3 different competition games on virtual popstar - tetris, snake, and minesweeper. Tetris is a game of blocks where you can turn them the right direction and you want to create horizontal lines of blocks to earn points. If your blocks hit the top of the board, you will lose, so this game does take a lot of focus. Snake is when you are a red line that gets bigger and bigger each level and you want to collect all the cherries without hitting yourself or a gray block. It's tricky and you cannot take your eyes off of the screen! Minesweeper is a game that depends on your luck. There will be a game board and you will have to guess and click on spaces, hoping there is not a bomb on that spot. The main point is to see if you can complete it and the timing you can complete it in.

Spread your voting link! Your voting link doesn't give you too much and you will only be able to earn once a week but if you give out your voting link to a lot of people and they all click on it, you can earn bunches! Where should you spread your voting link? Well, it's up to you! You can spread it on VP like in the forums or in private messages (remember not to spam!) or you can spread it off of VP with email, social media, or simply telling your friends!

Don't forget to earn your daily popdollar (or credit) gift on the wheel of fortune! Spin and keep your hopes up for whatever prize you'd like!

So, as you can see, there are a lot of different ways to earn popdollars and credits on virtual popstar. As the site grows, there will be more ways to come! Have a great weekend!

For all the boxes, or the Special Surprise? Because if it's for the Special Surprise, just drag the picture into a new tab and you can view it better.
