The Theatre. You’re ready to get started. You sit by one of your cast mates, they seem even more nervous than you are. You both exchange nervous glances and a modest and humble smile. Whoa. The awards are coming fast; the presenter of the first award is on stage. Steam and smoke goes off everywhere and the hosts step on the stage, the crowd goes wild with clapping and screaming. The hosts start doing the lame bits on stage to please the crowd. People pretend to laugh, but there really scared to death.
The first award begins. The announcer stands on the stage, and they remember some of the best movies in history, like Gone with the Wind which was the first movie to take home best picture and cinematography. Then we have Titanic, the beautiful love story from decades ago, the sinking of the beloved ship. Then the winner becomes announced.
Wait, your category is next, butterflies emerge from your mind into your stomach and you’re scared almost out of your seat. The announcer replays the nominees and you sit firm and proud in your seat. The envelope opens, and every crease that appears, from the opening the more scared you are. Your name is announced, you cannot believe this, and you get up and hug your colleagues and family. They can all see the awestruck on your face. You walk up to the stairs and try to gather your composure, but you’re so excited. The announcer hands you the Oscar and you gladly snatch it in a non mean way. You say your speech and are taken backstage to take it all in and silently scream.
Wow, it’s after the Oscar’s and you are still in awe, your colleagues and family congratulate you and walk you to the car for the after party. You’re in awe as you drive and arrive at the after party; people congratulate you and give you a cold drink because you’re palms are moist and your weak in the knees. Now, you enjoy your after party and let the realizations set in, you just won an Oscar.
