Respect for Veterans (by Aisaenic )

Intro
First of all, what does the term "veteran" mean to you? Is it someone who fights for the good of other people? A hero? A family member? Someone you love? A person who has risked their lives fighting for a single belief, put out by millions of souls who depend on them? You see, many people think of veterans as people who fight in the military. But has anyone realized how important they have been for the survival of our nation? Without these brave people covering for us and fighting for something we believe in, you very well know that whichever nation you are from would not be what it is right now. Whether good or bad, these people have tried their best, reaching for something ordinary citizens could never hope to achieve. And so, although this should have been posted out on Veterans Day, let us dedicate this topic to those who have fought, and died for us.
What Veterans Are Facing Right Now:
Many heavily medicated and wounded veterans are being taken back to front lines for further fighting, although they have been so physically and mentally damaged. Think about how dangerous and unfair this is. Turning loose these unfit and injured people out to fight a freaking war? And what if further participation impairs them even more? For instance, post traumatic stress disorder heavily impacts 30% of military participants, causing them to experience heavy hallucinations and flash backs to a terrifying time, which in this case, would cause them to be living in a real nightmare if they were put back into the front lines. These people need time to heal, and you'd be a cruel person to deny them at least this basic right! And what if they had a broken arm, leg, or anything? You think our forces can push these individuals further into a fight without them crumbling up? Think again! Another thing to point out is how almost 260,000 veterans are jobless in the U.S. alone! And who knows how much else in the entire world! Imagine risking your life for a nation. And then coming home, to receive finance problems. How crazy and unfair is that?!?!?!? Just a month ago, you were in midst battle, and now you come back to face a problem that shouldn't be there in the first place? And after all you did? As you can see, these problems are not only a nuisance, but a heavy lump of injustice the world is still facing.
 So What Can You Do?
So what can you do? If you truly feel like you want to help stop this injustice, why not enroll as a volunteer career coach? If you have experience at a job, and feel confident about your teaching skills, you could find someplace which recruits people like you, in order to train unqualified veterans to be qualified. In doing this, you could help improve a veteran's resume, and allow them to apply for similar jobs! And this does not limit the job that the veteran could choose, as they would be free to choose to learn underneath any coach they want! A website you should check out if you want to help would be JoblessWarriors, as they have a sign up link there. Or, if you know a jobless veteran personally, you could help direct them towards the correct website, and be part of the process of helping them find a job! Better yet, if you are an employer, you would know the benefits and reason to employing veterans already, and could consider hiring qualified veterans. And they would be more than happy to find a suitable job. Remember, coming home to face finance problems are an extreme hassle to these heroes who have so bravely defended and fought for your country. Let us give back what they gave to us, and aid them in their fight against unemployment.
