Hey VP! I'm not sure how many of you are into makeup or how many of you would want my recommendations but, I do have a few. And normally I wouldn't suggest makeup since I'm not a makeup artist myself, but these were just a few items that I had recently gotten that stood out enough that I wanted to show you because maybe you'd like to try them as well... if you haven't already.

Also, a huge thanks to Fiskarna for this amazing layout, as always. She always does great work.
I never thought primer was important? I thought it was just a money grab but wow, does it ever make a difference, at least I've noticed. This primer oil is perfect for people with dry skin because it smooths out dry areas with no problems.

To use it you just simply put a little on your fingers or put it directly onto your face and spread it around. You don't need much at all, this stuff goes a long way. Make sure to target your dry areas to see the most difference. After you've done that, give it a couple minutes to dry and voila! You're ready to apply your foundation.

It's not cheap though, makeup usually isn't. You can get it from Sephora for $49.00 CAD ($42.00 USD)
I just got this foundation, and the name for mine like all my foundation colours, made me feel like a doll. Pink Porcelain. Cute names aside, this foundation is also really great for dry skin, like I have. Matched with the primer oil, it's my dream team. Ha. It's a medium coverage foundation so you can always use a little more for full coverage or a little less if you want to feel light - not that this foundation isn't already light. It has never felt cakey once since I started using it.

Also, a tip from Bob, the guy who sold it to me, try using a stippling brush to press it into the skin because when the company reformulated the foundation, they put a lot of thought into how to make it look more like skin rather than makeup sitting on top of your skin. Pressing it in helps it merge and create a dewy and realistic look.

Again, it's not cheap but if you're interested you can find it at Sephora for $50.00 CAD ($43.00 USD)
You don't need any more than the basics. In my opinion anyway. I'm not very keen on eye shadow, I have no patience for it, but I was sold on this by all the reviews. My purchase was further praised by not only the cashier but when I went out for dinner with my friend that night, my waitress asked what I'd gotten from Sephora and I mentioned the Basics, she got so excited and said she loved hers, she always used it. I don't think you can go wrong here.

The eye shadow is highly pigmented, so you don't need much at all to get a bold look. Always tap your brush off because you definitely don't need as much as you pick up, unless you're feeling fierce, then go for it.

If you're interested, you can find it at Sephora for $36.00 CAD ($29.00 USD)
I'm in love with dark colours for my lips. Probably not the best colours for me since I'm so pale, but who cares? I need to live a little and embrace it. I was just looking on the Mac site one day, saw it and instantly fell in love. A couple of days later I was at the Mac store buying it and even the cashier was excited for me because she loved it and was wearing it, too. Even if she wasn't I was totally sold on it.

It's a matte finish and the best part, it smells like chocolate. You can't go wrong with a lipstick that smells like chocolate.

If you're insterested, you can get it at Mac for $20.00 CAD ($17.00 USD)
This is probably my favorite item on the list because
at the end of the day, what's better than taking off all your makeup? Probably taking off your pants ... or bra, but this is a close second. I only ever heard of it from a beauty box swap video on Youtube, and oh my god, I'm so happy I saw that video. I used to struggle with getting all my makeup off, it would take me forever and usually I couldn't get my eyeliner and mascara off completely. With the makeup eraser, 2 minutes or less and I was done.

It's so good that when I went to buy one, they were completely sold out, or so they thought. A sales attendant found one as I was waiting to pay. I love her for finding it, she looked really hard for it.

Essentially, it's a cloth, super soft material. You wash it, hang dry it and then it's ready to use. When you're ready to remove your makeup, just wet it with warm water and wipe off your makeup. Completely reusable, just make sure you wash it and hang dry it.

It comes in three colours and is available at Sephora for $24.00 CAD ($20.00 USD)

I've always had problems finding makeup for my dry skin. We don't have those brands here but I've been eyeing a few the products you mentioned for a while, so I might ask some of my friends to bring me some ;d
I'm guilty of not thinking primer is important tho. :/
