The month of October has flown by but there is no reason why we should not look back at the wonders we were granted! As a series I hope to run on a monthly basis, we will be interviewing several members of the community and finding out what inspired them and their outfits. We are all different after all and there is nothing more exciting than learning what sparks someones interest!
I just want to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone I interviewed for this article and I look forward to working with more of you in the future! Now sit back and enjoy a more in depth outfit appreciation.
What was your inspiration behind this outfit/look? was there any one item you found yourself wanting to be the focal point or that you simply had to use?
Hmm that's a good question. I think I started with the pants and the black and white top actually. At first it was just gonna be a black and white outfit if I remember correctly. But when I tried on the jacked I just had to go full on "clown" and everything else came from that.
As well as Ad0xa's incredible style we cannot deny their brilliant designs and this month our server was graced with these beauties;
Again, what was the inspiration that drew you to create these two beauties?
Well... at first it was a request from September. She wanted something bloody. Especially the blood running down the legs. The devil thing was something I've had in mind for a long time. The red horns was something I needed in my wb and couldn't really find on VP so basically that's why I wanted to do them. The dress is actually a re-used dress I made on gsm. And the rest sort of just came about when I was doing it. But I'd say the horns + blood was the starting point (even though I made them last) The clown thing was just bc I love creepy clowns and thought it would be fun to design. And the nurse thing was again something I missed in my wb. Mainly the bloody nurse hat. Since we had other nurse hats but I wanted one that was bloody.
How does it feel when you see users adoring your sets?
I Love seeing people use my stuff. That's the main draw for me. And ofc it feels good when you get compliments too. I always try to make items that are fun to use in more than just the one outfit I'm making. I love seeing people use my items in ways I couldn't imagine myself. Giving people the opportunity to be creative themselves.
Out of these two sets, which item was the hardest for you design?
I didn't have much trouble designing anything in these sets really... blood and white fabric are things I've done soo many times before.... but I always struggle with skins and hair. I kind of love doing skins but they always turn out not as good as I'd want them to be. But I hate doing hair. It takes a lot of time and I feel like I'm just making the same 3 hairs over and over again. I really need to work on my hair game. (Not counting colours I'm talking about the actual hair type. )
What would your advice be to anyone who wanted to get into designing?
Well. Practice makes perfect. I also think that you need to actually think it's fun and not do it bc of the wrong reasons. If you want to be a designer on VP to get praise or to be popular that's the wrong reasons. I also think people should push themselves to make more unique clothing. It's fine to make black leggings for practice but maybe not send that in? Always think "What do we not have?" or "Do we have enough of this?" Ofc you can do whatever you want to if it's something you burn for - go for it ! (Even if it's black leggings on top of other black leggings) And please don't shrink irl pictures or just copy things that you see online. Or at least be honest if you're doing it.
What was the inspiration behind this look? I don't think I had a specific inspiration at the time. I just enjoy making dark outfits with a lot of black in them.
Was there any key item you wanted as the focal point of this look? Why? (if there was one) Yes, the dress! It was one of my absolute dream items on my wishlist and I didn't think I would be able to get it at all. But the lovely Sareureuk was kind enough to sell it to me and then I wanted to try and make a look with it immediately.
I love this dress mainly because it gives me Morticia Addams vibes and I'm a huge fan of The Addams Family.
How would you describe your overall style? I think I would describe it a bit gothic, I especially love the victorian gothic style. It's a lot of black nonetheless.
What is your favourite item that you included in this look? Again, the dress! But the hair is also a big favourite of mine.
What was the inspiration behind this look? the makeup !! i saw it on startalk and immediately bought it from the mp ! and then i just added halloween-y things until i got something that looked decent lol
Was there any key item you wanted as the focal point of this look? Why? (if there wasone) well the makeup was kinda the key item but as i was making the look i found the orange ad0xa items that i wanted to give some love !
How would you describe your overall style? usually cluttered and abusing 1 main colour
What is your favourite item that you included in thislook? Apart from the makeup ,, which I've ranted enough about, definitely the little background glitters !! I use them in every outfit ,,,,, without fail
What was the inspiration behind this look? Random: Well we already did one matching outfit before this, that time Warfstache started the look and I made the rest of it. This time I started it and W finished it. Well I still added a few more items, cause we both like details. So for this one we just decided which few items to use and then theme was colourful. Basically we just go with the items we both have and complete the look together.
Warfstache: It started out with that we sent each other our favourite items, and we checked which of those items we had in common. We collaborated a lot, with one of us making a basic outfit with hair, skin and a shirt. The second person then continue the outfit and then we change details and accessories until both of us were satisfied with it and we keep it until we felt like it was time for a new one. We've done two outfits this far.
How come you both decided tomatch? Random: Hmm..well i always wanted to match with someone, but never really had anyone to do it with. Then i saw W do it with another person and then we decided to do one after that. Also it helped a lot when we became friends, so with that its easier. Also we like to talk to each other and love to confuse people so..here we are. x)
Warfstache: I've twinned with other people earlier, and it's quite fun each time. I and Random decided we would do the twinning at one point back when I twinned with someone else. About a month or so later we decided it was time to twin! So we spent a while deciding our first outfit, and about three or four days later we created the second outfit that we are currently wearing.
Was there any key item you used as a focalpoint? Random & Warfstache: We both love Solovey's skin.
How would you describe your overall style? Random: My style? Hmmm..i would say it really changes a lot, but one thing is always there...lot of details. I love to make an outfit with lot of elements and small parts to make it almost a mess, but still in a good way. I love to just try and do something different. I also start with one item i decided and go from there, i never actually know where it ends. It usually comes out very differently than i first planned it.
Warfstache: I suppose a badass kind of fantasy style. Both of them featured fantasy items and looks, while still looking rather badass in their own way.
